I only used once to strain whole peeled can Italian tomatoes, it worked well for this straining the seeds. But the disk is etched and discolored after one use, on the underside of the disk. Poor quality/cheap metal in the disk, for this price range. Would not recommend it. I looked at the other two disks i did not use yet, and they are both etched and discolored, bad quality right out of the box. I wish i had seen this sooner would have returned it without using it.

This food mill is sturdy and easy to use. Easy assembly and take apart for cleaning in the dishwasher. This is a good piece of equipment, should last a long time. Recommended

This was my first time using a mill. I’d purchased it specifically because of the health benefits of tomatoes (licopine) but only after removing the part of the tomato that contained some chemicals that are toxic. So this was the fastest and simplest way to accomplish this objective. I learned, however, that in order for the device to work properly the tomato’s first have to be cooked. Otherwise the tomato is too thick and hard to break down and separate the seeds and skin from the pulp. After thoroughly cooking in a pressure cooker for about two hours, the consistency was perfect and after cooling down the mill did its job. The resulting pulp was very thin and required more time to cook in order to reduce its consistency. But the result was very satisfactory.

Better than smaller ones (they are pointless, more work); better than other manufacturers - tight pressure, 3 differently sized grid holes (some offer only one), nice sized, and angled bowl, and excellent larger hand grip that stays firm within your palm while you are rotating the press. It thankfully takes on quite a load and it presses and rotates very very smoothly! The little clip that attaches underneath does a great job of scooping the pressed mash underneath - never had one of those before! There's a bit of pressure needed to put the mill bars in position but that's a good thing. It all removes and cleans up super nicely as well. Very well made!It has a handle meant to sit on the receiving soup pot but I do wish there were a few rubberized 'legs' to help stabilize the mill while pressing not-quite-tender-enough veggies, like seen on a much larger industrial-sized one I gave my daughter. I realize it can't predict what size pot a user might want to use, though. (next time - I'll make sure veggies are same sized and properly tender, but this is how we learn!)In general - great way to press all the best and more easily digestible enzymes out of foods and leave a thicker smoother soup or make the best diy baby food! Fruits, veggies, meats - without the gritty fiber bits (as when using a food processor).

This food mill works perfectly. It is deep and the tomatoes don't splash out of the mill. It is easy to clean and an easy assembly. This mill will surely last my lifetime and I have no complaints. Its worth every cent.

Processes a lot of food in a hurry. Built very very well. If you are looking at a food mill this one should be at, or toward, the top of the list. It is magnitudes better than my previous lower cost mill and is incredibly hard to fault, even after a lot of use.A small caution: Due to the size of this mill and the spring’s strength, some people may find it a little harder to setup for use. Be sure to have it sitting flat on a solid surface and be firm with it.

This was a replacement for the one I had for over ten years - the same model. It’s always worked well and the scraper on the bottom is helpful. Just don’t lose it! I wasn’t able to find a way to buy just the scrapper anywhere when mine was lost. (Seems like a good 3D printing opportunity!) Of course, it works fine without the scrapper, just needs a little more manual scrapping.

This food mill is well designed as it is comfortable in the hand and is sturdy. I have only used it in milling potatoes to make potato dumplings. Did a marvellous job...I do not see why it would not be any good on other vegetables/fruit.

I like this food mill except for the fact that the little clip thing on the bottom isn't made to seem so essential! Somehow the last time I used the old mill, we lost the little clip thing. I tried to purchase that clip part but there isn't anyway that Cuisipro allows you to do this so it is a real bummer. I had to purchase and entire new system because they don't offer parts. (Besides being very small it is made of plastic so it could become damaged or broken.) Cuisipro needs to make parts so that we can purchase them individually because the rest of the food mill is very sturdy and nice. Now I have two mills but just one clip. Sort of a rip off in my opinion and Cuisipro needs to have a customer service line or something so you can order this part individually. If they don't start doing that, this is the last time I will order that food mill and I'm disappointed with the company. If it wasn't for this I would have given it a 5 Star rating.

In Sept. we moved to our new property where we harvested Concord Grapes, producing 104 pints of delicious grape juice. It was a new process for me and used panty hose as I didn't have cheese cloth. We wanted to make applesauce but although the apples were worm free, the apples were very small and I did not want to peel and core them. I went on line and ordered a food mill from another source and it was a 7.5 qt, shipping was 16.00+ and for an additional 14.00 I could get it delivered in 2 days as we had just picked the apples. It never arrived...very poor customer service, so discovered Amazon.com. I ordered it and within 2 days I had my food mill. It is very sturdy, easy to put together for use and very easy to clean. The plastic clip on bottom of screen does help and I had no problem with it. You have to remember to turn it backwards and it does help to use a spatula to remove excess debris, skin, seeds from food mill periodically, otherwise you can keep grinding away, making small particles of skin and/or seed. My husband and I canned 23 quarts and 26 pints of applesauce and apple butter with no or little sugar. When I ordered the 3.5 qt. size, thought it might be too small, but in fact, the larger one would have been too cumbersome for me to handle. We are very happy with the product, the cost and the service. I look forward to next years grape harvest...the food mill will be perfect..no more pantyhose! We are retired and live in a very rural area, and I see that Amazon.com will be my #1 shopping place!
