I don't understand all the good reviews on this. I wanted to be excited with this kit, but it was just genuinely unusable. The hook is too small for the yarn given, and I can't find any information about what kind of yarn this is. Not even in the product information does it say ANYTHING about what yarn it is. It just says "enough yarn". The video instructions were awful and confusing. It doesn't even look like they're using the same size hook in the videos that you're given!! It said you'd have to supply your own scissors, yet the kit came with cutters. And I don't even know what 1/3rd of those items in that video were for. A hot glue tube?? Who is using that for crochet? It feels like they didn't even make those tutorial videos themselves because there are so many differences compared to the kit. I couldn't even get the start of my magic loop done because the hook wasn't big enough. And even if I could get it on the hook, it would just split the yarn... In the photo, you can see the yarn is the same size/bigger than the hook itself too. Also, the video playlist given from the QR code isn't even a set of videos of them making a cat. It's just some random crocheted stuff. it seems to be teaching the very basics of crochet, but if it's meant for people who have never even held a hook before... WHY on earth are the steps going by so fast? I get you can slow it, but it's extremely frustrating trying to pause and go back through the steps while you're trying to focus on your work with both hands. For $20, I was expecting much higher quality. It feels like they didn't even test their product, given the hook wasn't even the right size for the 'mystery' yarn... All I got out of this kit was learning how to make a slip knot and wrap the yarn around my fingers, and it wasn't even from their own tutorial videos. If you are looking to start crocheting for the first time, DO NOT get this kit. The yarn is also low quality and comes apart easily. This is a complete waste of time and money! I guess if you like cutting yarn for fun, this is what you should buy since that's all you can accomplish with this kit.

Yarn frayed almost instantly despite using the right tools. The instructions were terrible. My daughter and I ended up going on YouTube and just making other peoples’ creations with the yarn because other people have better tutorials. This one didn’t even tell you how many stitches in the round.

This review is for Crochet Kit for Beginners -3 PCS Sharks with a Ball Crochet Kit. The kit comes with everything you need to get started crocheting. It comes with yarn in pink, green, blue, white, and small amounts of yellow and black, 2 crochet hooks in 2.5 mm size, safety eyes for all 3 sharks, 3 stitch markers, 2 needles, a small scissors, stuffing, basic how crochet instructions and the pattern. The basic how to book is good. There are lots of pictures and the instruction is good. The pattern booklet contains QR codes that take you to instructional videos. The videos are really good and easy to follow. Some are fairly long but it's nice because you don't constantly have to keep hitting next while you are trying to keep your yarn tension. They are good videos for learning. They are hosted on YouTube which is nice so you can control the speed and slow it down if you would like. The pattern is well written, easy to understand, and even color coded for the color changes. The only complaint I really have is the hook and yarn size. I don't feel like they are the best for beginners as it is a bit small. I'm just learning and have been learning on a 4mm hook and coordinating yarn and that has been a better size to learn on as it's a bit easier to see the stitches. However, you could get this for the videos and the pattern and follow it with a larger hook and yarn and just make a bit bigger sharks then move to the smaller yarn and hooks once more experienced. I love this kit. It's so cute and I love all it comes with.

This is the second kit I bought and it has detailed video instructions via QR code on how to begin and the different stitches and makes it very easy

The printed materials included in the kit are EXCELLENT - far better than most I have seen. If you complete even one of the kittens in this kit you will be super well prepared to make pretty much any design you find anywhere, including on the Internet. WAY better than the Woobles kits which are crazy expensive and the Woobles company operations are terrible - I ordered the Woobles Advent Calendar (as in, a VERY expensive ($140!) set of 4 holiday amigurumi patterns with a few accessories (e.g. skis)) for my daughter and I to do together over Advent. The Woobles so-called “Advent” Calendar - ordered in October/November - did not arrive until CHRISTMAS EVE! So much for a Mom-daughter Advent fun project. This kitten kit, and others from this company, are excellent and delivery for their kits is Amazon quality.
