I noticed my cat wanting to scratch on my recliner while stretching so I ordered this right away (she had a flat scratch pad and a cat tree already). She took to it right away so much that I ordered a second one to put in another location.Super easy to build/put together. Is well made and pretty sturdy. The first one came with a plastic tool to screw the pieces together, while it did the job, it hurt my hand!! The second one I ordered came with a regular metal flathead tool that was sooo much better!! Definitely keeping the metal tool and tossing out the plastic one in case I get it again when I inevitably order this vertical scratcher again.Definitely get this to avoid your cat scratching on furniture, they will love it!

I bought these because they're double-sided and while I figured they weren't as high quality as what I'd been buying, they looked better than the average ones. After messing around with them I've found they enjoy using the single pad (there are 5 in the box) just flat on the ground by itself... but after the first month I flipped it over and put it back on the top of the other 4 in the box -- and then leaned it against the wall. That's their favorite position to use it and they've not knocked it off the wall in the past two weeks. I'm guessing they're going to go through a single pad (front and back) in two months' time. I'll put the gnarly one at the bottom and then move a fresh one to the top. Translation: 5 pads will last me 10 months with 2 big cats. They used to tear up the cat tree I'd get them every year but they're older now and I need them to not be jumping so high, so this is a terrific solution.

My cat is an aggressive little man. I've bought 5 of these literally one at a time. I'm in awe how much my cat loves this since he refuses to use every scratcher before this one. They are so incredible and redirect my cat's play aggressions. When my cat is done playing he simply walks up to this and stretches then lays down on the base. When hes overstimulated he walks over to this and gets his aggression out instead of attacking me. My couches are saved and so are my hands/arms. If I could give 50 stars I would. I have at least one in every room of my house now. Absolutely worth every penny. Very sturdy and long lasting. My first one is 3 months old and you can hardly tell

My cat seems to love this thing so far, but the one problem with it is that it definitely needs to be secured; we have laminate floors so I just used some double stick tape. Otherwise the thing moves all over the place and the cat doesn’t want to use it. I also notice that it shreds very easily, so I’m not sure how great the value is but seeing the cost of cardboard scratchers lately I guess it isn’t too bad!

There are little holes in the particleboard that you have to use plastic screws to hold all the cardboard pieces together, it comes with a weird plastic screwdriver. The holes are too small for the screws, so I had to literally use a dremel to make them bigger or this wouldn’t have worked. The plastic tool is flimsy and bends the part that goes into the screw.Besides how much of a pain it is to put together, it does come with a catnip ball that rolls around between the cardboard pieces and he’s obsessed with it, so that’s good.

This is a great cat scratch board , but a little flimsy … definitely recommend buying a few at a time . It’s certainly safe for cats , soft and holds well.
