I actually got this to keep our one dog from scratching on our front door (new!). Before it arrived I figured I would hang it on the actual door some way, but it seemed like it would add scratches as well. I ended up cutting it to the width of our door and depth of step then used command strips to hold it down. It has been down for 3 weeks now and it still wants to roll back up. It is very light weight and plastic so it definitely has the memory of plastic to re-roll. It is pokey as intended and the dogs do avoid it, but there have been a few of the pieces broken off rather easily.

For those of you who bought this product. Whatever amount you cut out to use. It is a good idea to lay some heavy books on top of the amount to be used to take out most but not all of the kink/roll. I then used tacks to tack it down in front of the hallway nightlight. But my cat caught on quickly and was still able to hit the nightlight at the wall outlet knocking it on the floor and making the hallway once again dark. She has even been able to work the tacks up out of the carpet from the cat scat. Thankfully I was walking past the area where I installed the cat scat and stepped on something that was hard. On investigation I found not only one tack that I stepped on, but about 5 more she was able to pul up onto the main floor. Thankfully it did not go into my foot and I’m pretty sure she has not ingested any. Here is what I ordered from Amazon 3" Powder Actuated Fasteners, Drive Pins with 1" Wahser, PW300, 100pcs/pack there supposed to be delivered tomorrow July 24th. It was way over the amount I needed, but decided to go ahead and order them thinking there might be a future project that might need to be used by them. I got the 3 inch nails, plus the 1 inch washer. Enough nail to stay in the floor and enough over hang with the washer to keep the map held down. As far as some saying that the spikes on the cat scat Matt might be to dangerous. I love my cat, but I also want light in my hallway. If her paw should get pocked, she will learn. Just like she learned how to get away with removing the nightlight and tacks. But I believe once I cut a little bit more and using the 3 inch nails with the 1 inch washer, this should solve the problem.

Cat walks on it. Try as I might, nothing keeps him off the counters. My cat is a little rascal though.

We have several feral cats in our neighborhood and they have started to use our covered golf cart for weather protection and our flowerbed for a litter box. We tried a couple things that didn’t work, then I found these. Easy to work with and a definite deterrent without harming the cats. We did order extra ground stakes and zip ties which worked great.

The cat played with it like a toy. The bristles are plastic. He used it to scratch himself. Then ripped it down. We used industrial staples to ensure he couldn't get it down. Nope, plastic easily breaks. We gave up.
