Excellent water color paper. 100% cotton, great for gradated washes without paper warping. This is my fourth purchase of the cold press. It's been quite reliable and the price point makes it a wise choice, against the higher priced Arches paper I usually use. it also comes with a cute handy green plastic knife in the shape of a leaf for releasing the the glued edges. Highly recommended.

i like the plastic separation tool and the thickness of the paper and the journal size.I tried a sample pack of all their student and artist quality paper and ordered a larger student block which was ok. Noticed this was artist quality for only a couple dollars more but it honestly does not hold up to water well. Starts crumbling. very weird because their others did not do that. Not a fan. Also a little rougher than i like which required a wetter brush but then didn't hold up well. It's ok not great

This watercolor paper is sturdier than most brands, and less expensive. Great for wet on wet painting.

100 percent cotton, very reasonable price! Rougher texture than most watercolor paper, doesn't bother me but if you use hot press or regular cold press another brand, you might be surprised. Holds a wet wash very well with no blooms or backruns the only thing is it's very thirsty paper so working very wet is good. It's a glued block but they provide a plastic tool to seperate the paper and it works well. Overall very pleased.

I first started buying Baohong watercolour paper long before it became so popular . . . back in the days when it was the best quality for the best price. I prefer watercolour blocks because I can use as much water as I want and the paper stays put. They used to include a small green plastic 'leaf' to slide in the opening and then along the edges to remove it from the block after the painting was dry. I have several on hand so I don't miss them not being included any more. Since I often work on 2 or 3 paintings at a time, I am glad I bought several of these blocks in various sizes when they were still a reasonable price. The past year or so I have been on a quest to find other watercolour paper blocks that will work for me without breaking my bank account. :)

Actually, I just received the product 2 days ago and have used it once. I like the texture and the control when laying down the first wash. Double loading the brush, colors mix beautifully. I am well pleased with my first go with Baohong paper.I will have a better feel after the wash dries and proceed to a finished painting. At this time I would buy again.JoBeth Gilliam

I’ve used a block of cold press. One, the block is VERY well glued. Find the opening and don’t lose the little tool they send! So much better than my fabriano blocks that never stay together. Personally, I wish the cold press was a little less textured. Otherwise it’s really great paper and such a good value!Painting on the left is watches hot press, right side is this baohong cold press.

I love this paper and can easily see why so many other watercolor artist rave about it. I have many small blocks of watercolor paper and find myself reaching for this one the most. I love the texture and thickness of the paper. I like that a knife was included for ease of paper removal when done with a piece. I seen other reviews where their paper would tear in removal. There is a lot of glue on the sides of the block! After I had two tiny tears on my piece with the little boy and his teddy bear, I use the knife differently. I will slide that knife under pretty far and slide carefully at an angle. No more rips of the paper! I will say that even though it has thick glue on the sides, the paper does buckle quite a bit. I find that surprising with the way the block is made. Thankfully, my hair dryer knocks those ripples out nicely and I go back to laying down color. I will definitely be purchasing more of this watercolor paper in a variety of sizes! Highly recommend to other watercolor artists. Can’t go wrong with Baohong!

Comparing this to Windsor and Newton paper, it is rougher and needs much more water to get the paint on it. The block does buckle more than the Windsor block but not enough to be much of a problem. I like to use it for my less precious paintings. Drawing on it is not a good idea as your pencil skips in and out. I'm new to watercolour so keep that in mind. I still think this is a good deal money wise.

I love the texture of this paper! It’s excellent quality paper for watercolor painting.I notice that the pigments of artist grade watercolors stay vibrant and as saturated as you want them to be.The paper holds up to a lot of layering and water.I’m particularly pleased with it not having a detectable repeated pattern in the texture of the paper.Great for granulating colors. A real pleasure to use. This smaller size fits in my watercolor painting box. Wonderful little block of paper. And it is 100% cotton, which is important for watercolor painting.
