Note:
- It can only be used for DC voltage and cannot be connected to a DC voltage greater than 42volts in any environment.
- Can not be used for AC voltage.
- Cannot be used in circuits that are directly or indirectly connected to AC cables or any ACpower supply.
- Cannot be used with any ignition circuits and components.
- Before using this instrument to check the automobile cable, you should disconnect anycomponents or subsystems that are sensitive to voltage or current pulses, such as air bags,electronic control modules, etc.
- When disconnecting any part or subsystem of the vehicle, you must abide by the relevant rulesof vehicle maintenance and the requirements of the vehicle maintenance manual.
- When not in use, please remove the transmitter from the test environment and turn the switch tothe OFF gear.
- Do not let the instrument enter the water.
- Do not use the cable in the high-voltage environment and follow the operating specifications of the instructions.

I can only review this tool on the basis of unboxing, as I presently have no situation to test it's troubleshooting.It appears from a physical inspection that the tool is made with high quality materials and nicely designed.As soon a s I can I will post results of any real world testing.

A bit finicky as far as tracing the loom with the wand but I have used a brand name one with similar issues so its likely just an issue with how they work and the proximity you can get to things. However if you can get right up on the loom this can save you a ton of time searching throughout the loom or having to just replace an entire circuit end to end.

I need to find a short in a wiring harness in my riding lawnmower. I lost my old one and figured this would work better than the old one I had. Directions are not the best but it will get you through. This unit is more sensitive than the other one, so hopefully I will be able to detect the short quickly.

This tool is a lifesaver when trying to identify wiring issues in the car. It doesn't have to be limited to just the car though. It can pretty much trace whatever non-energized wiring you have. The price is very good for how easy this makes troubleshooting.

This car circuit tracer works great. It's perfect for tracking down a loose/broken wire, even if it's behind interior decorations. The signal is quite strong, so it's easy to get an idea where the disconnect is happening. There's a distinct audible change from up to around 8 inches away. Identifying a specific wire from within a bundle is a lot tougher. The wires need to be splayed out, so there's some separation. This device is also handy in using continuity to figure out poorly labeled wiring, such as aftermarket audio stuff. But, it is strange that the light on this unit seems to be facing the wrong direction. The probe works best when the tip is perpendicular to the thing being probed, so the light really ought to be bent 90 degrees.
