Higher Flow Rates

Superior Biological Filtration
The patented biological grid has a large surface area to support more of the beneficial bacteria that eliminates ammonia and nitrates. A second wet/dry grid provides further biological filtration and oxygenation as the water returns to the aquarium.
Internal Pump Design

Day one: took it out of box, felt very light and cheaply made. Got it all together, installed it on my 30 gallon hexagon tank and filled it. Noticed it was kinda loud, so I made sure to top it up. It's QUIET. I mean, it's honestly the quietest filter I've ever used now. Water current looks strong too. Hopefully it stays this quiet and works well!

I have had just about every name brand filter out there. Been keeping fish for 30+ years. These filters are outstanding. They are quiet, dependable, have very strong suction. They have a telescopic (adjustable length) intake tube. Biogrids, an LED that accurately flashes when the gets clogged and needs to be changed (detects water level overflow), will NOT overflow if your media is clogged. Has a 2nd small chamber for either an ammonia reducer block, carbon block, or phosphate block. Pump is in the water so after a power outage they always start up. The design of the outflow keeps it gentle compared to similar filters. The 20 is good for up to 30 gallon tank. I own 4 of these filters. I have 2 on my 20 gallon and 2 on my 30 gallon. Can easily just buy a roll of floss and trim to size, don't need to buy the Aqueon replacement cartridges. I highly recommend!

Product may very well be a great filter, but it's voltage is not disclosed in descriptions or specs at the item details. This is not usable outside of it designated market which is probably USA.

I have only had the filter running for a few hours but I thought I would give Top Fin aquarium owners a heads up. The filter doesn't fit the Top Fin 29 gallon aquariums very well because the plastic rim is thicker then the filter is designed for. I had to shove extra filter padding between the rim and the spill over to keep the filter level and it elevated further then it should be but works. If you also have the lid that comes with the kit this creates a problem with water spilling out on the lid so I had to adjust the lid further forward so the water spills back into the tank. Filter works fine with my jerry rigging but Top Fin 29 gallon kit owners might want to give this filter a pass and look at other options. I'm primarily using it as a polishing filter since my biological filtration is an under gravel filter. I wanted a polishing filter with motor designed to sit below the water and no skimmer. A skimmer completely unneeded in my freshwater setup and can cause excessive noise when debris and floating plants get sucked into the skimmer. These filters run almost completely silent other then the flow of water sound. Self primes almost instantly within 3-5 seconds. My only complaint is it doesn't mesh well with the Top Fin 29 gallon aquarium and lid (that comes with the 29 gallon kit).

Si funciono bien, aunque tuve que modificar el marco de la pecera, ya que el espacio que tenia el filtro era muy pequeño y no entraba en la pared de la pecera. Lo bueno es que el marco es de aluminio y pude hacer un doblez para que pudiera entrar. Y esta información no viene en el filtro (dimensiones) para que hubiera asegurado la correcta instalación del filtro.

I've only had it for a week but I went and bought a second one to replace my 20 year old filter because I was that impressed with it. It seems like a great filter. It runs really smoothly. Obviously it isn't SILENT, but it's easy enough to sleep with in the same room. The sound is barely noticeable. I'd highly recommend it to a beginner, as it's extremely simple to use, comes with a sponge for biological filtration, and a light to remind you when to change your cartridges. Installation is a breeze, and there's no need to prime it. All in all a great filter.

I actually bought this filter in the used/refurbish section on Amazon after months of searching for the right filter for my new aquarium, 10 gallon tank. Despite I bought it used this filter work like a charm! Here is a mini breakdown:Performance: Powerful. The pump was so strong that I ended up making a baffled to restrict some of the water flow but even then the water can be seen rippling through the surface. Not only is the pump strong but it is quiet as well, really live up to its name "QuietFlow". Occasionally some small water dripping and humming from the motor can be heard but you have to be right in front of the tank to notice it. This filter is also self priming, which mean that you do not have to pour water in the filter to get the filter to work and move the water flow. I found this a bonus, since I always unpluged my filter to do water changes. And every time without a failure when I plug it back in, the filter just automatically do its job and within seconds, water is already pouring out and silently too!Design: Bulky but functional. Its looks a bit big but will fit quiet nicely on the glass panel without any falling or sliding problem. If you have a 10 gallon tank with a standard hood, the 20 or 10 version will fit on the tank with the hood on just fine as well. The intake tube is adjustable meaning you can slide it up/down. Inside the filter there is some room for additional filter medias beside the one it originally come with. There is also 2 plastic meshes that help with aerating the water (you can see it in the picture, it is the blue thing) and store the beneficial bacteria. There is also a resting place on the side of the filter for the cord so it wont be hanging out unnecessary in your tank. Additionally, all parts on the filter including the propeller, and intake tube can be taken out and clean or wash if necessary.Con: Unfortunately with everything there has to be a drawback. The problem however, are really small and aren't really consider much of a nuisance. I found that the cover/cap of the filter do shake sometimes, especially when you open it and don't close it properly. This created a very loud rattling noise, which can be easily fix by closing it properly or use a rubber band to bind it securely down. Another thing was since the pump is so strong, it would be nice to have an adjustable option to restrict the water flow, but sadly there is none.A tip: If you decided to have live plants in your aquarium that have spiky leaves, especially the Hornwort, the falling leaves can get suck up by the filter and create a blockage overtime. So monitor this.Overall I have had this filter for over 3 months now and it is still going strong and keeping my aquarium super clean without any problem. I couldn't be happier with this filter.
