i paired this filter with this pump ( https://a.co/d/2nKIoZP ) with limited expectations and threw it onto my new standard 10g. i have been suffering through the grating bubbling and vibrations of other filter/pump combos. this? this right here is silent WITHOUT having to buy and install an air stone separately (why don’t they come standard on sponge filters??? like don’t piss me off rn.)i’ve had it installed and running for almost 2 months, and i honestly forget it’s even running a lot of the time. i have the output tube half in and half out of the water, so there’s great aeration and circulation with no bubbling noise. i will say that it’s bulky and not very attractive, but i knew that going into all of this. every sponge filter in existence has the same problem. i scaped around it and hopefully my plants grow up and block most of it from view. i’m using this filter/pump combo on every tank forever and ever and ever !!!

Does a great job of filtering the aquarium and easy to maintain. No additional expenses, just rinse in old water when doing maintenance and reuse.

Works well for my 20g long planted tank. I clean it once every 3 months to keep the flow strong. Easily cleaned up and provides just enough water flow for my aquarium.

This thing has been chugging along constantly for 4 months now with no issues in a 30gal freshwater planted setup. Quiet. Tough. Inexpensive. Simple. What else could you ask for!

There are two suction cups. You're lucky if one stays attached to the glass. Most of the time, I just have a filter that is floating at the top of the tank. And no one can tell me that my pump is too strong (or that I did not squeeze the air bubbles out of the sponge) because I intentionally attached a super weak pump. It cannot be the air pressure that is responsible for lifting this sponge filter away from the glass.Let's just face it. This is an inexpensive filter. That's why I bought it!Can I try to replace the suction cups with better quality ones? Yep.Can I attempt to use rocks or ornaments to anchor the filter in place? YepBut I ain't gonna. All other parts of this filter are wonderful. But I am not going to MacGiver the hell outta this thing. By the time I would be done, I might as well have bought a more expensive one, and propping the filter with a rock or (kill me) an aquarium ORNAMENT, would restrict water flowing through the sponge or ceramics, totally defeating the purpose.Maybe, I just got a dud.I just want people to know to beware; that's all.I also already got it wet by the time I discovered all of this, so I am not comfortable taking this up with the manufacturer. My loss. Besides, what are the chances of any replacement being any different lol?
