Love this unit. I build hot rods and install complete new wiring harnesses. With this disconnect I wire in a push button under the dash and can kill power instantly to the whole car if needed. Makes for a good theft prevention also.

When listing the technical specifications of a switch relay or solenoid you use phrases such as spst, spdt, dpst dpdt, etc. you also use the words normally opened or normally closed. These have specific meanings these are listed as normally closed and they are not meaning they are the exact opposite of normally closed therefore inappropriate for the use that you would want they normally closed switch relay or solenoid. The person selling these needs to redo their listing to convey that they are normally opened and not normally closed as it says. I know this because they arrived today and when checked with an OHM meter they are normally open.

The description says rated for continuos duty. I went ahead and installed in my RV, but checked on it after some time and it was SO hot.I removed it and bench checked and it draws over 1.5A at 14V, over 20W. I reduced voltage and this will engage at about 6V and 500mA. Not comfortable withit running so hot, but cant return since I had disposed of all packing., (Can I?)

Installed it so I can control when power is supplied to my truck’s winch. Have not yet tested it fully under extended load/ use but feel confident about its capability.

Initial one didn't work. Company sent replacement and it is working well. Great value, many 12v battery isolators of this Amperage are twice the price. At maximum load my winch draws 504 Amps, isolator is rated for 500 Amps, but capable of handling a surge to 700 Amps. It will be very rare to run at full load for long and this will protect my winch from vandals by having an on and off switch in the cab of my truck. Mounted on an unused bracket under hood with an adapter plate I made.

I needed an isolator for my winch. This worked better than a Warn winch relay. It carries the load for my winch even under heavy loads and doesn't get hot or even warm to the touch. It's the biggest 12v relay I have ever installed, so it does take up more space than other 12v relays, but I was still able to find a spot for it right next to my battery. I've only had it installed for a few weeks now. If anything changes I will update this reveiw.

Most stock RV battery isolator solenoids are rated at 250 amps. They often go bad. This 500 amp solenoid is a good upgrade that should last longer. The mounting bracket on this 500 amp unit is larger than a stock 250A unit, simply because the switch is physically larger. You might need to drill another mounting hole to provide mounting holes about 1/2" wider to accommodate the larger mounting bracket. Surprisingly, my Winnebago was already predrilled with a 3rd mounting hole to accept this upgrade as an option.
