So...we bought these bricks as it is suggested in gerbils forums that coir is good for gerbils. We opened the package and there were quite a lot of stones and other bits, which we don't think are suitable for cute little rodents. My daughter spent ages filtering through the soil etc but eventually gave up and we will use this for our plants. Oh well!

Bought this to pot and indoor orchid. I was hoping that I would be able to cut off a smaller chunk and then hydrate the coconut husk. You can't cut into the brick without first hydrating the whole brick so there is waste if you don't use the whole amount.Also this is very messy if using indoor hydrate the brick in a large bowl of water in the sink.Lastly the hydrated husk smell pretty bad.
