I bought this eliminate visible light while still transmitting UV light and it worked perfectly for my application. It looks like "black glass". The filter arrived extremely well-packaged and several WEEKS ahead of the expected date. I know that this filter also transmits IR light so you should be aware of that it makes a difference for your use-case. If you put an extremely bright white light behind the filter, you will see a little dark red, but no purple light coming through. Five stars.
