To ensure a secure attachment, these filters screw onto lenses with standard threading. Before purchasing, check your camera's lens thread size, marked by "Φ" followed by a number (e.g., Φ82 for an 82mm thread). Find this info on the front glass element, lens cap, manual, or manufacturer's website.

Not much to say really. A well made superior UV / protection9 filter from a respected manufacturer. Bought the 40.5mm size to fit Pentax 17 so price at this size is reasonable.Only minor note is that thread length is greater than some filters so filter does not quite fully locate depth wise on front of camera. This may be a feature of the camera and not the filter.

Superior quality. Sturdy. Thin so there’s no vignette at wide angle shots. Does not cast a hue. More expensive than the rest but you get what you pay for.

I love NiSi filters. They are currently my first choice for any filtration needs primarily because their glass coatings are exceptionally good - great at reducing reflections, durable, and easy to clean. I am a cinema professional who has been evaluating lenses and filters for film production for over 30 years. NiSi filters are at least as good as the more expensive big name brands. I think they are better.I have no idea what Explosion-proof means in regard to a piece of glass, it appears to be an unfortunate translation meant to convey shatter-proof? Shatterproof is a nice feature, since one of the main reasons for always wearing a UV filter is to protect your lenses. UV filters have saved me literally thousands in lens repairs over the yers.I have two very small issues with this UV filter:1. The filter has a very very slight green tint. I am sure 99.9 percent of people would not notice it and it is simple to adjust in editing.2. The other issue is the packaging - The box is shiny silver with a hologram-like rainbow sheen. It looks really cool, but the small text on the box is nearly impossible to read. See photo. In conclusion, you cannot go wrong with this brand. Highly recommended.

In this review I'm comparing this filter to my B+W Master UV filters, which are what I've been using and are about the same price. The antireflective coatings on this filter aren't quite as good as the ones on my B+Ws - I can tell just from looking at them side by side - but they still seem quite good. In the real world, that just means a little stronger ghost images from bright light sources, but even the B+W Masters add strong ghosting compared to what most lenses naturally produce, so the difference between the NiSi and B+W is negligible. The main reason I bought this filter instead of another B+W is that unlike B+W filters, NiSi Armor filters come with a lifetime warranty. I could be wrong, but as I understand it, if you shatter them for any reason, NiSi will send you replacements free of charge. That's hard to argue with. The shatter-proof claims were also encouraging. Hopefully I'll have no way to review that because I won't have subjected the filter to any impacts. The ergonomics and cosmetics of this filter are less important, but still worth mentioning because I hate them. The knurling is very grippy, but sharp and uncomfortable - so much so that it feels like I’d cut myself if I grabbed it too hard. The silvery color of the outside of the ring is needlessly conspicuous. It doesn’t matter much because I'm putting it on an already very conspicuous Canon Big White telephoto, but if I ever put it on a black lens, I’m coating the silver part with black paint marker.

I replaced a no-name, clear filter that I bought for my camera 12 years ago. This filter is phenomenal compared to what I had. This filter has a metal ring, whereas my old one was completely plastic. I have experience with only these 2 clear filters, so I don't have a lot of experience to do a proper review.I think it's worth it to use a clear filter to help protect the camera lens.
