Does the job but not very practical to have around the house due to it being heavy, large, and dangerously pointy. I don't see myself using this regularly to check the moisture level in my soil.

If you have large plants in large pots this is good, but for small to medium pots it is big and heavy!

Not happy about using this to test soil dryness. OTOH if I ever needed to knock out somebodies teeth this would be my go-to tool.

Much higher quality materials than expected. Minimalist tool, but functions as designed and quality worth the price.

I didn't expect the ball to be so heavy, nor the tip to be so sharp. (The black tube covered the tip.) The weight made it VERY easy to insert to the bottom of the pot. So far so good. This is my 1st day using it and it was great letting me know my snake plant needed watering.
