Everything seems to work correctly, so I'm just going to point out annoyances. When it shifts between ranges, it feels like it goes haywire for a second. It'll blank the screen, but then when it comes back, it's like it swings around randomly for a few updates. The updates are very quick, though: a quarter of a second? Maybe less? There's a hold button opposite the clamp trigger. It takes very little force to press. I have inadvertently pressed it basically every time I've picked up the meter or moved it in almost any way. It seems initially useful for a hold button to be easily accessible, but this one is way too easy to accidentally press. The mode shift button is literally unlabeled. I guess that doesn't make that much difference, but it's weirdly sloppy. I also don't like how much the mode button is required. It took me quite a while to realize, for example, that I have to switch modes to switch the clamp between measuring AC and DC current. Maybe that's on me for being unfamiliar with clamp meters. But it feels like every dial setting has three or four alternate modes to cycle through. I guess it's good that it has a lot of features. The backlight stays on for something like 10 seconds. I'm constantly having to turn it back on again.Every time you do anything, a beep happens. Why? There are enough modes that you can't know what mode you're in based on the beep. You have to look at the screen, which shows you what mode you're in. It even beeps when you turn on the backlight. !?!? (Sorry. This is a huge pet peeve of mine.)The case is not very good. It's not super-cheap, though. It has a mesh pocket with the opening pointing towards the spine of the case, which means any time you close it, any loose items in the pocket just dump into the main body of the case. There's also an elastic strap to hold the meter down. Why? Are you getting something out of the case other than the meter? I mean, you can just ignore it, but it's silly. You knew the included probes were going to be bad, but these are worse than usual. The leads' insulation is stiffer than pretty much any I've ever used, and they're always getting in the way. Just buy some nice silicone-insulated leads.

Wow it has in-rush that’s a plusThis meter is nice, the amps is a little off and no way of calibrating,I did compare it to three other meters on the same power line of my ac unit. A couple amps. Off also The voltage was also a couple of volts off.I don’t like that every time you select voltage it always defaults to DC.In general, not a bad meter to have as a back up meter. I wish I had a minimum and maximum setting, but I’m happy that it has in rush setting.I will have to check the capacitor reading to see how accurate or off it may be.In short, yes, those little Amp , voltage and capacity of a capacitor or micro fret, it really does matter so you don’t miss diagnose.Like I said, it’s a good back up meter. For home use only.Three stars because of the inrush, which was a real plus for me even if it’s off by 2 Amps. The question will I buy it again?Only of the price is reasonable, and if I was looking for an inrush meter. So yes, this meter served his purpose for now.

I don't use this.I don't know how it works. But my husband does. As do my sons. And that's just fine because they can't work my digital camera, so it all evens out.My husband wanted this because he often is testing wiring on things around the house and car and motorcycle and such. He's had it about a week and he has come back tosay: "eh, I don't think I'll use it much. I like my other one better."He said the display is hard to read at times - and he's using it in the garage, not bright sunlight. He said it seems to glitch out at times, which his other one doesn't do.And he said it's just not very user-friendly."This isn't for a newbie to try using and I'm sure someone who knows how to use them won't want to keep using it."He said he's giving it two stars because "it either works all the time or it doesn't. I swore at this too many times to want to keep it on my bench."

This meter try’s to do it all, AC/DC Current Voltage, Temp, Resistance, Capacitance, Frequency, Continuity, NCV, and it does it with some quirks. It’s not comfortable to read in all lighting conditions, unless the backlight is on, but that doesn’t stay on long. The is also a button for the flashlight function, but the clamp blocks the light and the same button puts the meter readings on hold. If you’re wearing gloves that seams to happen a lot. The test leads keep their curves, easy to get in the case, but they don't hang free. Something I really wanted was temperature. There is a temperature probe, but it is not electrically insulated, so if it gets wet, there goes the reading. My display was pre-scuffed as the carry case lets everything roll around. And no it’s not a removable protection film. For me, the NCV non contact voltage detector was flakey at times, so I find myself, always double, triple checking. No issues with other readings or scales. I would use it as a backup.

I wasn’t looking for a do-everything multi meter when I ordered this. I just needed an Inexpensive clamp-on meter that gives me an indication of current flow, without worrying too much about accuracy. I have other meters that I can depend on for other functions, so for the purpose, this one is OK.
