Ok I need to out myself right up front! I am no electrician and can only do the basics. I dabble with repairs around the house, solar connections, Battery testing, vehicle electrical and especially testing to make sure power is off when I have to mess with an outlet or other household electrical appliances. This has way more capability than I will ever understand how to use, but it is nice to know it is there. Even though this thing has a ton of features, I was able to figure out the basics quickly. Continuity, testing a circuit, and even air testing to see if something is live.Recently I had issues with my furnace and was able to use the features on this device I previously had no idea about. I watched some YouTube videos in order to learn how to test my flame sensor and roll out switches to determine what was working properly and what needed replacing without a costly technician! Monkey see monkey do.I can't match the reviews on all those geeky guys that actually understand these things, I don't even understand half of what they are saying. But this does do the simple stuff well and when I need to do something more complicated this is a more sophisticated tool that will allow me to perform specific tasks above my average intelligence with a little guidance from the interwebs! The screen is easy to read. It has optional audible alerts, its lightweight and even has a little flashlight on it. If you are going to own just one this is a good one at a good price for the features.

The packaging is quite attractive. It includes a basic instruction manual in Chinese and English. Instructions are included for copying updated firmware from a PC to the multimeter, but it wasn't clear to me just where to find that firmware in the first place. The included USB-C charge cord seems a bit short, but any USB-C cord should work. The charge port has a rubber dust cover. There are two smaller holes next to the USB port that I'm curious about, but there's no indication what they are for.On first power-up I was prompted to select English or Chinese. Not yet familiar with the menu navigation, I accidentally selected Chinese. An anxious minute of experimenting got me back to English though. The screen is bright and colorful, not overly large but certainly big enough to be useful and readable without my short-range eyeglasses. The built-in flashlight only works when the device is powered on, and isn't very bright. But it might make enough of a difference in a small dark space. Long-pressing turns the flashlight on/off. Short-pressing switches the screen between light and dark, which can easily happen accidentally due to the button's location. In my testing it worked well checking:button cell and AA/AAA/9v batteriescar batterieselectric guitar pickup resistanceelectric guitar wiring continuitytrack lighting headsrecessed ceiling pot lightsI can't say how it compares to a professional grade multimeter, but it seems to have all the functionality and then some that an average home hobbyist will need. I'm very happy with it.

A must for lithium ion battery owners. Wish the clamps were better quality though,, the plastic might break in cold weather.

I am not an electrician. I just need something to tell me if there’s power or not. I figured, if I was to get something I’d want it for multiple applications. This would save me time and space. This tool is easy to use. I’m still taking it slowly, really only using it for what I need. It’s probably overkill for my needs, but it really makes checking for power/voltage so much easier. I’d recommend it.

I appreciate how easy this meter is to use. With just a few buttons, you can seamlessly switch between AC/DC voltage and AC/DC amps. The dual auto-detect display automatically identifies AC or DC voltage, and it conveniently stores high and low voltage or amperage readings. The needle-like test leads provide excellent contact for precise measurements. However, my only complaint is that the temperature sensor is extremely inaccurate.

No measurements from the clamp at all. I bought 2 thinking could be a faulty unit, all these chinese products are scam or never pass QAUPDATE!!!Customer service reach out me and asked me few questions about the product. After few days FNIRST sent me a new unit for free and came without issues. I did test every single feature and everything worked as expected. Product look and feel very professional, the readings are very accurate, clamp worked and measure both AC/DC very well, love this unit now. I would recommend it.

This meter has a lot of functionality. Ease of use is fair, which is good because the manual isn't very concise. There are a few buttons that do one thing when pushed then another when pushed for a longer period of time - in general I am not a fan of that type of interface, but it is manageable and there are enough buttons to make navigation of menus and modes work reasonably well. They do not specify what the current input limit is for the leads. This is not good, they should state that as damage to the meter could result on account of that. I am inclined to deduct half a star for that. Fortunately for them 4.5 rounds up to 5 and the meter is otherwise fairly good on most fronts, particularly when considering the price point, so I don't think that in itself is enough to pull a full star. The leads are about the level of quality you would expect in a meter at this price point, they are single function probe tip, nothing is replaceable so if you break the tip you are tossing the leads. Fortunately for me I got an excellent set of leads separately, so I am good on that front, although the cost of the lead kit was close to the cost of the meter so it is not surprising that the included leads are basic. The temperature sensor is very responsive, it heats and cools quickly which is good for quick temperature reading. When you breath on it you can see the temperature rise and then fall very quickly. The graphing mode is nice for watching things that trend, but don't mistake it for an oscilloscope. Its response time (for DC voltage anyway) is rather slow, it has some damping. So while good for trends, it isn't great if you want to catch a very short burst event. The clamp meter measure current only. I opened up my electrical panel to take some measurements. It gave me readings, I can only assume they were accurate as I wasn't about to start disconnecting my household AC just so I could do inline testing with another meter to verify accuracy. The convenience of a clamp meter is pretty high when it works, but just remember that you need to test on a single conductor, if there is a return path conductor right next to it you will measure zero since the opposite EM fields will cancel. The clamp is a good size, it offers the right blend of being able to clamp onto a large conductor wire while still not being too huge and bulky - for just testing single circuits on my panel I was wishing it was smaller but if it was that would limit its use for large cables (more of a concern in industrial environments). The rechargeable battery is a nice touch. I haven't used it long enough to discharge it, if it has anything close to the rated capacity it should last a long time. The colour display is nice, it is easy to read and has two modes, dark background or white so depending on lighting conditions you can change it as needed. Most meters at this price point don't have colour displays. I have two higher end meters that each cost quite a lot more than this one and neither of them are colour. It's not a necessary feature but it does look nice. The flashlight feature works, but just barely - it provides some illumination when using the clamp meter, and often one uses those inside dark cabinets so any extra light is appreciated, but it isn't very bright. One thing that would be a nice addition is if this had a case, but at this price point you really can't complain about that not being included.Overall, this is a good multi purpose meter, it should be the only multimeter needed for many households. As mentioned, I have a few meters, this one will probably be my basic use meter for anything that doesn't require high precision and accuracy, and really, a lot of basic measurements around the house don't need anything better than +- 5% so this should do the job for all those tasks.

If you're looking for an in-depth review on this I'd highly recommend checking out the video Hugo from TechCorner put out on YouTube. Like a lot of other FNIRSI products he puts this one through it's paces and does a much more thorough job of testing this than I could hope to.That said, my personal opinions of this as more of a hobbyist are very positive. Measurements seem accurate, and I absolutely love the charting feature. It's been an awesome troubleshooting tool if I suspect some sort of current change occurred in a circuit some time in the last ten seconds or so while I was keeping my eyes on something else.I love that the test leads taper down to a point that will fit into smaller sockets like those you'd find on d-sub connectors, or even slots on a breadboard if you'd like. My only minor complaint is that the ends of the leads can sort of slip free from the bottom of the meter as you use it, but if you're not tugging on it too much this isn't an issue. The meter also has a pretty prominent typo of "MUNE" rather than "MENU" but otherwise the interface is very clean.

For what this is, it is an excellent value and an excellent tool. Overall, I recommend it.I tested this against some calibrate lab equipment. It was a off in my tests but only marginally and within reason in my opinion (displayed 30.01V at 30.00V for example). This would test, verify, and measure 99% of people need from a multimeter and more!My favorite feature is plotting over time. This is so so useful! I work on car in my spare time. Often I turn something on or off and can't see the meter but with a plot I can see how it behaved when I flipped a switch or ect.The included leads and probes are surprisingly good. The leads stay attached securely but are not obnoxious to plug into the meter. The probs are long and sharp which is useful to poke thru wire insulation. They misspelled "MENU" as "MUNE" on the button. Not a huge problem- I think its sort of funny actually.I encounted a firmware bug when plotting ambient temperature in the room (about 67F, definitely not 1000F). Initially this broke my trust of the meter, but after more use and thinking about it more, the bug exposed itself as an obvious malfunction so it would be obvious to observe and identify when in use later correctly as a malfunction. I haven't been able to recreate the issue since. In theory, they could make an update to correct this bug- I'm hopeful!
