The Fluke 772 MA clamp meter expand upon the capabilities of the popular 771 MA clamp meter, adding loop power and MA sourcing to the troubleshooting and process calibration capabilities in all Fluke MA clamp meters. If you are spending time taking MA measurements by removing a wire and breaking the loop, calling the control room to isolate a loop, testing analog input/output on a console, troubleshooting devices with MA inputs and outputs, repairing intermittent or erratic 420 MA loops, going back to the shop to get extra tools then you need to take a good look at the Fluke 772 MA clamp meters. This is a must have if you work with 4-20 milliamp equipment. Being able to measure the current without breaking the loop is priceless.

Fluke can be trusted, but now price is increased.If price is good, will buy more.I purchsed with other Fluke tools as one order, don't know why split three packages for shipping.

I bought this Instrument from a local Authorized Fluke Dealer. When we got back to our shop and first detached the clamp from the meter, the entire clamp came apart with the spring and hinge pin flying all over the floor. The plastic hinge was broken.We called the dealer less than an hour after leaving the store to report this and they immediately accused us of breaking the clamp and stated that Fluke does not cover this under their Warranty.We suspect that this may be a common problem with these meters.After almost a week, they said that Fluke would replace it under Warranty. However, given their attitude, we told them to keep it and bought it instead from Amazon. It was almost $200 cheaper and it did come intact.We need this instrument, so we are extra careful when handling the clamp.Fluke should look at strengthening the hinge on the clamp.

This is not your everyday multimeter. It is highly specialized for fairly small signal work. Most clamp-on meters will not measure at such a low level. It works well and appears to be both precise and accurate. The Fluke name is a strong one, and I expect that it will continue to operate as well as it has initially.

The unit is well constructed and very portable. The signal generation feature works well, although if you need more than the preset output levels, you should buy the next model up. Easy to use, and of the quality you would expect from Fluke.
