The unit is excellent I would recommend it to anybody that needs a good sand filter and motor these guys has helped me out with hooking it up right I had it hooked up backwards and was having problems with it and they was very good at getting back to me right away to tell me what I needed to do really good product

Install it today work well but leak a bit look like the seal on the head wont close properly... but motor push well.. overall really happy

I just opened the box after receiving it a couple of weeks ago to find that the base was broke and it was just cheap plastic and the filter was the same. the pump was ok. No quality with this product. I am partly at fault due to the fact that I waited too long to check it and cannot return it.

Do not recommend this product or this seller. I bought this product to replace my existing pump that went out. I had issues right from the start. First I received the package and the unit was shipped to me with the incorrect size motor. Contacted the seller and all they said was sorry for the inconvenience and I had to send the whole package back before they would send the new unit. Had two wait two weeks before receiving the new unit. Received new unit and as I was looking thru the owners manual I noticed the manual did not reference a name brand or website for the pump or filter no were to order parts or register for warranty. I Installed pump and filter on the second day of use the pump started leaking water between the motor and pump assembly bad seal in motor. I contacted the seller and all they said was sorry for the inconvenience and they said they would not replace the motor until I send the unit back to them. I offered to buy a new motor too replace the bad one then send the defective one back for credit but the seller said that I could not do that. Removing the motor showed another issue with the design the motor is thru bolted to the base so to remove the motor you have to remove the 185lb sand filter off the base to access the bolts. Since I would have to disassemble the whole unit, loose the water and chemicals in the pool and wait two extra weeks for a replacement unit I decided to purchase a new pump at a local supplier. I sent back the whole package for a full refund.

No doubt about this pump, it works great and cleaned my above ground pool (16x48 i think).After putting the new chemicals i had to get for a sand pump it cleaned up my ugly green pool into a nice blue pool, the water is still a lil foggy but its clean tho.The cons with the pump is that it doesnt have very well detailed instructions, many times i had to look at the picture and tinker with it till i found how it fits. Had to buy new tubes for the pool and those rings that tighten around the tube to seal it. Make sure you seal everything because you will have some type of leak. And it doesnt have a timer shut off, so i have to go check on it every couple hours to make sure the pressure isnt too high.Other than that it works really good, its really strong and so far so good.

Ok, so here is my review. I purchased this filter over this past winter for under $200 at the time, which was a good deal. I have it attached and filtering a 24 round 52 inch high pool. It replaced a cartridge filter element filter which just never seemed to do the job as good as I wanted.So, the instructions manual is not the best, but it seems that is the norm today with a lot items bought. The filter took about 120 lbs of pool filter sand to fill the filter container to about 70% full. I was told at the pool supply store that that would be the norm. You will find a clear plastic tube that attaches to the filter intake base which is star shaped, this clear tubing has a white filter element attached to the opposite end and needs to be placed above the level of your sand. I just curled it up at the top of the intake pipe and wire tied it in place being careful to keep it above the sand level and making sure the tubing was not compressed.Issues I had: The generic base that both the pump and the filter canister attach to not well fitting at all!! I found that when I had the pump located as far away to the left as I could to the filter canister the piece of "hard not flexible" tubing that goes from the pump head to the multi port valve was way too long. To make to work I had to leave some pump base bolts out and the pump would have had to been sitting at an angle, if not there would have been too much pressure/tension placed on the connection points and something would have failed!!!I went to the pool store and bought a flexible clear reinforced tubing that can be bent and then cut to the correct size so that I could then use this base without the added tension the tubing that came with it would have caused. To do this I had to get different fittings that screw into both the pump head and the filter multi port. This was and is an issue that you will have to deal with if yours is sent with the same base. The base that is shown in the picture for this product is NOT what came with mine.

Last year we bought a house that had a pool. The previous owner didn't take care of it properly. We got by for the last week barely, knowing we would need a new pump and filter. We chose this because of price. Our local pool store wanted $600 for same size pump and filter. This one arrived quickly and in perfect order. Time came to open up the pool and everything was working perfectly. Water was crystal clear!! Huge change from last year! I went out to check the skimmer basket for those dumb helicopters from the neighbors tree. The motor was making a hum sound and not pumping water.Contacted the seller that night, heard back very quickly. Was able to arrange a replacement with no problem. Great service and price. Highly recommended.

This new Sand Filter replaced a Hayward cartridge filter, which never seemed to keep my 21' above ground pool water clean. .After only two days, with a couple of normal cleanings, the water is crystal clear and fresh! The sand filter (1.5 HP) is more than enough to do the job! I am completely satisfied with the purchase, delivery time and easy installation! I recommend this product to anyone who wants or needs to replace a cartridge type filter. I wish I had purchased this filter 3 years ago!RickLancaster Pa
