Worked well with our pool!

Our old pump that came with the pool super sucked, after looking for a better pump within our budget this had the best of what we were looking for and it has been the best things since sliced bread. The pool stays clear the jet now moves water like it should and surprisingly quiet for being a pump. If you have a pool pump that not doing it's job then this is the one for you.

I like the pump overall except I too have had the leaking problems. We’ve had to add a lot of the tape sealant and O-rings. Did pretty well but I noticed it’s starting to drip again. Also, no on/off switch. Has to be unplugged every time. That’s inconvenient. Very quiet and it is powerful. So my pool is sparkling. It did not come with the O-rings. The size of the backwash is not the standard 1.5, so have to get a new hose. Must be 2 or 2.5. I’ll measure it before I buy again. I’ll redo to fitting that is leaking and hopefully will be good. I wish I’d looked a little farther and paid a little more, but I’ll keep fiddling with this one.

I bought this filter for my 14'x48" Bestway pool and It was the best decision I ever made. Great suction, great value for your money, and performs amazing! It's very easy to clean, and my water has never been more clear! Last year we had such a hard time keeping the water in our pool from getting cloudy, or green. It was the most frustrating thing and by the end of the year I had given up on it. I wanted a filter that was going to more than do the job And I'm very happy with my new sand filter! I use filter balls and everything has been so smooth! I have only added chlorine and shock and the water has remained crystal clear. It has a great flow compared to my last filter. I will say that the instructions are not very clear I'm putting it together, but YouTube helped with that and the assembly was actually fairly easy. This was a great buy and is a great quality pump!

Like I said, 30 days in. I'll try to update at end of summer or next spring.Works great, the water is clean and clear. The flow is much better that the factory pump. I like that is quite. As seen in photos I did hook it up to a outdoor timmer. I run in while the sun is up right now to help warm the water. The fittings did leak a little water. I'm guessing u didn't use enough tape. But this isn't a big deal. I have a 14ft round pool. I would recommend

The ad clearly states you need to add 42 pounds of sand to the filter tank. The filter itself has a sticker that says you need 61 pounds. Could never get a straight answer as to which it is. Some quick research showed that the tank needs to be 2/3rd filled and for that I needed 61 pounds. Once done, it works great. The instructions are worthless as others have noted.

We have a 15 foot round pool that is 4 feet deep. This filter had plenty of capacity to keep it clean all summer. Set up is really easy. Water flow is great, and I think it fully cycles our pool fairly quickly. Great filter pump for the price. I'm so glad I don't have to buy cartridges that don't even work anymore!!

I put this pump on my summer waves 18' pool. The original hose from the pool fits the fittings, sorta, but its too short for the pump to sit on the ground, and you're going to need a second one anyway, so just go get 2 normal 3ft hoses from the pool store( 1.5"). They ALMOST fit perfectly on the fittings. I cut a section from a bicycle tire tube, and pulled that onto the fitting first (it has to be fairly tight or it won't stay and seal), then I put the hose on and clamped it. I did this on all the hose connections, on the pool and on the new pump. Also, check the distance from the end of the hose to where your clamp sits, my hoses had a ridge with an extra bit past the ridge, which caused my clamps to sit too far out on the fitting. I cut the end of the hoses back to the ridge (Sharp knife will do the trick, its a soft plastic) allowing the clamps to sit squarely on the fitting. I also put teflon tape on the threads of all the fittings, even though they have rubber gaskets and shouldn't need it, just because so many reviews mentioned having major leak issues. The pump skimmer unit that comes with the pool has the pump integrated into the base, and the pool comes with a black rubber plate to replace that if you switch to an external pump, that works ok-ish until you try to vacuum the pool. As soon as you hook up the vacuum hose with this much more powerful pump, it sucks air in past that black rubber plate. You'll want to swap that out with the solid plastic base plate, it has a rubber gasket and comes with teflon tape (got that on amazon as well). but keep the black rubber plate, it fits perfectly in the skimmer opening to block the pool water from rushing out when you have to open up the skimmer basket on the pump or fix a leaky connection, with that and the little black plug in the line returning to the pool, you're all setNow I have no leakes, a MUCH quieter pump, and much stronger circulation in the pool, and stronger vacuuming too.
