Bearings fall off every time. Even if the depth is set properly. Only can get through one, medium sized house.

Quality bit works great for pattern cutting. If I need to I’ll make the purchase again . Have recommended this bit to a few other.

It's a great bit! The first one I received had to be returned due to the cutter leaving a mark on the wood...returned easily and without issue. The defect was just a one in a million type of things. These are great bits, great quality and smooth cutting! Will buy Whiteside again! ...and again!

This bit is extremely sharp and cuts effortlessly. I bought it specifically for using on a table mounted router for routing using templates. With it being an upcut bit, when it is mounted upside down on a table mounted router it tends to pull the work downward. The spiral cutter pattern naturally tends to draw the work into the bit until the bearing makes contact with the template. I've always used template router bits with straight cutters which chip away at the wood. With those types of bits, I've always had to carefully trim away most of the excess wood before mounting my template in order to help prevent tear out and end grain blowouts. Not with this spiral bit! My first test cut was a 6" interior hole that I needed to cut out of 3/4" pine using my template I had already made. I drilled a 1/2" hole inside the area I needed to cut out and tried cutting the 6" hole without using a scroll saw to cut away the bulk of the material first like I normally have to do. I was able to cut the 6 inch diameter hole quickly and easily with this spiral bit. Not having to trim away the excess wood before using my template is going to be a huge time saver!

Let me start by saying I bought a crappy router set when I started woodworking with the plan of upgrading the bits to the better quality version as they wore out to spread the cost out over a longer length of time.Well it just so happens that my first few replacements were replaced with Freud bits. Im not a brand snob, I usually look for quality and price that match with reviews and Freud fit the criteria for my first couple bits. I've really had no problems with the Freud bits i've bought. They're solid bits. But now it was time to upgrade my crappy straight flush bit and this time I decided to go with the Whiteside. I used it for the first time the other day and WOW. This is the most smooth, sharp, quality bit I own. It cut through my project like butter and left a silky smooth finish. I had pretty high expectations for this bit and it blew those expectations out of the water. Im highly considering just making all my future upgrades Whiteside bits. Seriously, I dont see how anyone can give this bit anything less than 5 stars. A++ bit
