This bit is what you should expect from Whiteside. This is a long lasting dovetail bit that's great for cutting sliding dovetails on 3/4" material. If you want the bit to last longer and leave a better profile, I'd suggest removing some of the waste with a dado bit prior to the dovetail bit.

Whiteside bits are always great and this one is no exception. clean smooth cuts, the 1/2" shank keeps the vibration down, if I'm making a sliding dovetail joint, I usually use a straight bit first to remove most of the waist before using this bit, but that would go for any dovetail bit really.
