Excellent bit. Just took the precaution to slow down the bit, and does a perfect job flattening serving trays.

Just as expected from whiteside products …. Sharp, rigid doesn’t burn . And while not the size I needed it still got the job done…. Just took a bit longer with more passes.

Used this bit to flatten rough sawn planks - bit does a great job and provides a clean finish that a belt sander can clean up easily. Was a little worried about the 1/4" shank as I have had previous bits that failed, but this one seemed to have no problem

Very smooth cut and not bulky works well with a smaller router only downfall is once it gets dull the performance decreases noticeably and difficult to get back to factory sharpness

I just purchased a cnc router and needed a surfacing bit for my wasteboard. After doing a little research and asking some friends, they suggested this Whiteside bit. There are other, more expensive bits out there but since I'm just starting off, I thought I'd give this one a try.Worked very well for my needs and left a very smooth and level surface. Surfacing MDF produces a ton of dust so make sure you have a decent dust collection system or enclosure and of course, wear a mask when working with MDF.For the price and quality, I felt it was a solid buy.

I bought this bit to surface my CNC wasteboard. It did a wonderful job. What impressed me most was that I had 6 steel bolts holding down my wasteboard. The bolts were set below the surface of the wasteboard and I thought that I had enough clearance to cut away 2mm off the top. I was wrong and the bit ran over 4 of the 6 bolt heads. It wasn't intentional, nevertheless I didn't stop the job as I wanted to see if the bit would hold up. Every time it ran over a bolt head, I would hold my breath as sparks shot all around the dust shoe. After the job finished, the bit still looked great. I will definitely buy this again.

I bought this for stock and spoil board surfacing on my CNC router. This is a very well-made product, and worth the money. My only caveat is that, if you plan on using this on a large piece (my spoil board is 3' x 4'), it may be worthwhile to buy a larger bit. A 1" surfacing bit will get the job done a lot faster.Be wary of Big Box MDF when using this bit. I've twice encountered staples buried in the middle of MDF. The most recent encounter did some damage to this bit.
