Saw the reviews that these were coming loose and breaking in shipping and some that were zip tied in place. The set I just got (Feb 2025) has them safely tied down.

Probably, best spent money for a while. Amazing quality and ability to adjust accordingly to the various thicknesses of the wood. Highly recommended.

When I started working with a router table I bought a set of cheap tongue and groove bits. They had good reviews on Amazon, so I got them and (I thought) saved some money. The problem was that the cheap bits did not cut cleanly. The bit cutting the tongue always left a little "fringe" on both edges I would have to go back and clean up with a file. Then I bought the Freud set. What a difference! Clean cuts every time! No more filing off the fringe. So, if you are trying to decide if the Freud bits are worth it, I would say definitely yes. Unless you don't need really clean cuts.

I originally purchased cheaper bits on here and it was not very clean cuts at all. I ended up having to redo my rails and stiles and bought this, wish i just would have invested in these to begin with, they are more expensive but the quality difference is very noticeable.

Nice set of cutters. I like to be able to adjust the size for different types of material. Especially here in Canada with the bloody metric system and American-size tools.

These bits are excellent. Clean cuts, easy** to adjust, repeatable results. Just one thing. I dinged them 0.25 stars because the shims that are included are very precise, but they're not labeled and I had a bit of trouble figuring out the initial set-up. If I cut tongues and grooves every day I'd get used to them and have no problem. But, I don't cut T&G every day.

Bought this set to turn a bunch of old hardwood floorboards into panelling. As with other Freud tools I’ve bought it did the job safely and easily.

The were some low star ratings for these bits that mostly had to do with loose bits being damaged in shipping. I was a bit hesitant, but really wanted the quality of Freud instead of the cheap imports. I took the chance on ordering these. Amazon messed up the first order and I received a cheap pair of grinding stones instead of my router bits. After processing a return of the wrong item and re-ordering these bits again, they came in two days. I was delighted to find the bits were secured inside a plastic case with zip ties so there was no chance of them coming loose and clanging around. I installed them on two different router tables, fine tuned them, and went to work building my kitchen cabinet shaker doors. I am thoroughly pleased with the bits. They are sharp and balanced and come with a variety of shims to change the width of your tongue and groove to suit your needs.

Using tongue and groove subfloor we had scrap that could not be used because it was missing either the tongue or a groove. This bit allowed us to cut a proper tongue or groove for 1-1/8 Advantech subfloor. This saved a number of full panels from being cut and paid for itself almost immediately.

I never thought I’d say this, but these router bits are so beautiful, I almost don’t want to use them. Before this purchase, I bought sets of 20 or more for nearly the same price as these two pieces. Never having owned professional-grade tools, I couldn’t imagine what justified the extra cost. Boy, was I wrong.First, the packaging makes you feel like you’ve won an award for craftsmanship. It’s like opening a trophy case. Then, I was surprised by the sheer weight of the package—I was curious how router bits could have the density of a dying sun. When I finally opened it, I realized the bulk wasn’t the packaging. These bits are massive. Imagine an anvil and a shipping container had a baby—yeah, that’s how sturdy they feel.Sharp? Let’s just say they could give an eagle’s eyes a run for their money. I’m grateful I read a review that warned me not to cut myself while unboxing. If I hadn’t, I might be typing this review one-thumbed.I usually store all my router bits in foam, but these? They stay in their own display case like trophies in my workshop—because they are! The quality is undeniable, and after a few cuts, I know I won’t be going back to the bulk sets.If you’re on the fence about investing in high-quality bits, take the leap. You’ll wonder how you ever worked without them.

I purchased these to fabricate a set of Shaker cabinet end panels. After receiving a quote of over $1,500 for four end panels, I knew I could do this myself for a fraction of the cost. Using this T&G set with a router was infinitely easier than using my table saw. I love that the router bits are adjustable, in comparison with other sets with are fixed at 1/4". I wanted to use 1/4" plywood panels instead of MDF, which is a problem for most other T&G router bit sets, since the thickness of 1/4" plywood is more like 3/16", which would leave too much space in the groove once the plywood panel was inserted. This set worked perfectly for my needs. The fact that this set can adjust for different thicknesses makes it a better value over time in case I have future projects with different thickness requirements.I'm deducting one star because the product documentation was thin on details on how to adjust the thickness using the washers. Although I could have figured it out on my own, I wanted the clarity of documentation. I tried to download documentation from the Freud website, but they required that I set up an account before downloading, which is a PITA that I didn't want to deal with. I eventually found the necessary documentation here on Amazon, but Freud shouldn't make it that difficult.
