When removing the old motor, make sure to note where the various wires connect. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also be sure to turn off the water supply to your dishwasher before you begin. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using Affresh® Dishwasher Cleaner* (item W10282479) to help reduce limescale and mineral build-up that can be unsightly and affect your dishwasher’s performance. *Affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.

Restored my dishwasher to like -new condition. There's a video on YouTube on how to install this. I previously disassembled the recirculation pump to clean the recirculation filter, so I could've just bought the pump, but the difference is $10 vs. The entire sump and pump assembly, so I went for this. After installing this, I felt that even though installing this may not necessarily be faster than installing the pump, but it is definitely less troublesome (fewer hose connections, no need to disassemble the filter assembly). So in my experience replacing this whole assembly is so much more trivial than replacing just the pump, I recommend it.On the downside, this whole design is imo problematic. The dual filtration design in these dishwashers tends to get clogged over time, which causes the pump(s) to overheat and fail. You end up with loss of power during extraction and, eventually, continuous e1f9 error. Especially if you start getting it during beginning of the cycle, it is a clear indication you need a whole new pump. My dishwasher was a little shy of 4 year old when it happened.

The dishwasher stopped spraying water to wash the dishes. It would add water and drain water, so this seemed like the logical choice. This was an easy replacement and had all the hoses and parts already connected. It fixed our issue. Great service and speed of getting the part. I will recommend this over just the pump for the few extra $.
