I’m so grateful to have a fridge that works again! That said, this new fan is a little louder than the old one. I’m acclimating, and fridge works great again!

EDIT: the below no longer appears to apply as of 6 May 2024, the sole seller changed the images of the fan and the info in the description and they no longer match my images/what's in my review belowThis fan appears to be the same as the OEM part, with the exception of one craftily placed sticker (I'll confirm that what's underneath it is what's expected). It's a triple-bladed DC fan rated at 13.6V/0.16A, it weighs within a few grams of the OEM's weight, it doesn't taste like 8 years of stale bachelorhood and fermented chicken juice - hooray. According to the service manual for my fridge, the max RPM for the OEM is 4100rpm, and when I ran the FF fan test (test #47, the one that spins the fan up to 75% duty cycle) the replacement roared up to around 3100rpm, which smells close enough to 75% to me. Finger-lickin' good so far.I installed the fan with the fridge interior at about ambient temp (75F), and after I plugged the fridge back in and cleared all fault codes I didn't hear the compressor kicking in and the fridge beginning to cool. Running the FF cooling test (#95) confirmed the fridge was still capable of cooling normally, but as soon as I exited diagnostic mode the fridge went back to silent, and the temps slowly rose back up into the 50s. From anecdotal search results, GE support will tell you that that may happen, and if it does, it's not unexpected; the remedy is to just sit tight and wait, apparently for an indeterminate amount of time. By coinkydink I had to leave town the following day for a week, and when I came back the fridge was making its normal quiet humming sound. Checking the interior temps with an infrared scanner showed all was hunky-dory - deli tray was at 34F, crisper at 36F, top shelf at 44F. I'm a happy camper, insomuch as paying a bit over a Jackson for what amounts to a cheap fan goes.tl;dr - even if this ain't OEM, it's close enough for me

My fridge started to make noises so we ordered this fan to replace our old one. It was easy to install and the fridge is back to the right temperature! No more noise!

The fan was an exact match for the original extractor fan in my refrigerator. My extractor fan failed causing the unit to freeze up. It took almost two hours to get rid of the ice, but the new fan works just fine.I ordered the fan and it arrived the next day. That was critical. My freezer was full and I had nowhere to store any of the items. Great service and fan. Good job Amazon.
