I had an older model that wasn’t compatible for charging lithium batteries. It was a direct replacement and it was simple enough to take out the wire connections from the old unit and reconnecting the new unit. All the colors are the same so there was no guesswork.

Product arrived on time. Was easy to install and worked perfect. I put this in a 2007 Keystone Vr1.

My old converter (p/n 8955PEC) failed. I found it under my fridge, under the breakers and fuses. 2018 flagstaff 831 bhds. I noticed something was wrong when my slide would barely pull itself in to close up the camper. I opted to spend more on the WFCO brand since other converter reviews were a little bit sketchy. It came the next day and cost $217. The wires were the correct length, size, and color. They were the same as the original one that failed. The wire ends were crimped with covers to contain the stands of wire, except for the white and green wire on the input side of the converter (left side in photo). The right side has the heavy gauge white and red wire for the DC output. My battery (lead acid, Interstate brand) was charging at 13.4 volts with the new converter. The new converter mounting was perfect. I didn't need to modify the holes. This converter should be able to pick up what type of battery you have and adjust the charging profile. This is according to the manufacture WFCO. The heavy wires on the right-hand side pass through a hole in the cabinet and then behind the green circuit board with all the fuses. This board slides up under to fingers on the top and clips at the bottom in one spot. I just pushed down on the bottom clip, and the board came out easily so I could run the wires from the new unit behind it. I tightened the screws as much as I could with a screwdriver handle tool (using #2 square bits) and called it good. Of course, you need to disconnect the shore power and the battery to make sure there is no power to the electrical components before doing this job. Bust out your Fluke meter and verify there is no power!! Safety first! All in all, it probably took me 50 minutes to do the job. It's easy. So, if you have this issue with your converter not charging your battery, check YouTube for some videos of other possible causes as to why your converter may not be working and change it yourself if necessary. The dealer wanted $300+tax for the unit. I'm guessing the labor from the dealer was probably another couple hundred dollars. Happy camping!

So far this has worked great. I replaced the old one in my 2008 Keystone Passport. Install consisted of 5 wires. Just take the old one out, and put the new wires back in the same spot. 6 screw total to get the old unit out. Getting the wires fed behind the old board and getting everything to fit just so was a little tricky, but not bad at all.

This seems to be working great now that I have the correct batteries in the RV.

My daughter bought a travel trailer and then discovered that the batteries weren't charging and the fridge didn't work if the batteries dropped below 12.8V even when plugged into shore power. The fellow she purchased it from must have charged the batteries before she viewed it so the fridge worked. He claimed he was a mechanical engineer and it appears he decided the solution was a solar panel, controller and inverter which he had not yet installed.I quickly identified the problem as the control board. This is OEM replacement however is an upgrade, to identify and charge lithium batteries as well as LA. It took less than 10 minutes to replace it and her system works perfectly now. Through Amazon it was about $200 cheaper than the RV dealer price. Now we just have to install the nice solar charger and she is ready for anything.

I wanted to upgrade from our old single lead acid battery to dual lithium batteries on my 2014 model Lance travel trailer. The original converter from a decade ago would not support the correct voltage and charging profile for lithium batteries.I'd read online some people had problems getting these converters to properly sense lithium batteries and would not automatically switch over. But I read that WFCO had made some software changes to these units and people were getting good results, so I decided to buy this one.Install was easy. You remove the old converter, disconnect and reconnect a few wires and it's done. It sensed my lithium batteries within a few minutes and has worked perfectly ever since. We also have rooftop solar on our camper as well. Our trips have been a mix of hooked-up with 30A electric and off grid. When hooked up, we run the converter and it works as expected. Sometimes off grid we find ourselves with days of rain or a very shady campsite and the solar does not keep up. In that case we have a built in 7200 watt generator in my truck and I can plug in and recharge the batteries with this converter. It does what's expected, there's nothing more I can ask. According to my shunt the batteries top up just fine and the voltages are as expected.TL;DR: I don't regret the purchase at all. We've used our camper extensively in the six months since installing it and the converter works without fail.

This unit fit perfectly in my Wafco WF1855AN main panel in our travel trailer. Only 5 wires to connect and 2 screws to remove/install. Saved me a lot of money by being able to install it myself. It’s only been installed for a few days but everything seems to be working very well. I’m very happy with this unit and would recommend it.

So I lost power to my camper this year and couldn't figure out why. I thought it was the electrical pole at the site but that wasn't it. I was still getting some power from my battery but being the beginning of summer that wasn't going to last. Finally figured out it was my amp board.... Which had finally hit the biscuit because of a power surge the year before.I looked for this and found it on amazon for half the price of what a dealership was asking. I bought it and it was a breeze to install. It helps if you know a bit about electrical work, however campers are pretty dummy proof so someone who doesn't know a lot would be able to fix it. That being said the unit came with everything required and actually ended up working better than my old one. Fan was a lot quieter. So far great product

I bought it because the one in our R-Pod 179 failed while we were on a trip. Once I was able to get it (shipped to a friend and brought to where we were), it was easy to install. Once installed, everything was back to full functionality. There are no instructions, but it is straight forward. Because it is a replacement for an identical unit, one just needs to note which wires go to the terminals when disconnecting (after removing power, both from AC and DC sides). Then one connects the new unit's wires to the terminals where the old unit's wires were connected. The hardest part is connecting the heavy red and white wires to the circuit board. It is easier to remove that in order to get the wires in place and then replace it after that is done. A square-tip screwdriver is helpful also as a Phillips screwdriver will not be able to apply sufficient force to loosen the screws. The square-tip can apply more torque to stubborn screws.I gave this unit 4 stars because the old unit failed. At least it is still within the warranty period, so the old unit is on the way to Arterra to be checked and replaced. Because we were on the road, I could not send it off until after we returned. We will end up with a spare in case this should happen again.
