This thing is well-designed and beefy. Install is straightforward by drilling holes through the rails of your ladder. It's spring loaded so retracts quick and easy and the fold out foot lever makes deploying it quick and easy. Easily removable. It does add some weight to my already cumbersome 28' aluminum ladder and changes the balance when trying to carry it, but it's worth the trouble to deal with a sloped yard or staircase.

Great product for service technicians that go to various sites and never know what the landscape will be. Time consuming install and one shot deal, so take your time on the install.
