It showed me that I had power going to the wire honest. I used it for my trailer lights. I rewired it so I could pull it with my truck.

This is a handy little tool to have around if your working with wires and you need to know if they are getting current or not or if you're trying to do a radio install and you need to know which wire is hot and which is not. Great tool, recommend to anyone I know looking to do small electrical work

Clip to ground. I suggest using the negative pole on your battery. Probe a hot wire coming from the positive terminal of your battery. If the tester lights up, you have power to that point, where you probed. If not, then you have an open circuit. E.g. the fuse that the power needs to go through is blown, or your stoplight isn't lighting up because it's not getting power. If your test light lights up and your stoplight does not, then you have a bad ground for your stoplight. It's usually one or the other: no ground or no power. The test light helps to eliminate variables. Tip: Create an extra-long cable to clip directly to the negative on the battery, so you aren't relying on the car to be well grounded. Also: low voltage only, like cars -- 6-12 volt. Don't try it on the house current. That would be very, very bad. Test light uses 12 volt 3 watt automotive bulb. Higher voltage will fry the bulb (so even though it says somewhere that you could test 24v, don't try it!). 6v will work and be dim. 12v is just right.

It’s not like a Snap-on product however YES it will do what it’s designed to do without issue 🤷‍♂️Why buy the expensive one that’s probably gonna disappear soon enough anyway, this unit works the same just without the name, NO biGGie on that end …
