Part of my line of work. It's nice to have something very quick that can test exposed wires before I have to cross them. This works fairly quickly. Very cheap though. You can actually easily make one yourself. It's just nice

Used to test household power. Basic and simple to use. Always be cautious and treat household wiring as if it is "live/hot" until you can verify it's "dead/no power" to make it safe to work with.
