Seems to be quality built. Heavier than others I have purchased in the past. Accurately indicates between power and neutral. The power button needs to be intentionally pushed rather than others that a small bump can turn it on causing batteries to be dead when needed.

You can literally stick this directly into a live plug and it will read very low or not at all. For a ncv tester it is not great by any means considering it’s from wiha . I like the feel of it in my hand but doesn’t really make accurate indications on live circuits . It only time I got a high voltage indication was on a 800 amp 480 3 phase switch gear but on small receptacles or wires it’s unreliable.

It works well. I have tried 3 other brands, which all worked, However the other brands would turn on carrying it in your pocket or tool pouch. This one has not yet false started. I would buy it again

As a voltage tester, this product does what it’s made for. I would say it is a little finicky and inconsistent especially when testing my wall plugs. It’ll sometime detect a voltage and other times it won’t even though I know the plug has voltage. Usually this is fixed by just moving it away and trying again. The inconsistency also carries over in measuring the strength of the voltage. Overall I still like the product. The build quality is solid and the price is not crazy. Would recommend but you may be better off with a cheaper voltage detector.

Not sure if I just got a dud, but will turn itself off think the battery doesn’t sit correctly but then press the button and come on again. Replaced and tried different brand batteries. Also the head is very large if you like to have it in your top pocket. Personally will be going back to fluke.

Didn’t work upon inserting batteries. Got it to turn on after messing with contractor and cap. Turns off randomly and doesn’t always turn on. Likely a defective product but am returning as I don’t trust it. Beep sound it makes is also very annoying .

I am a fan of Wiha tools, because of the quality of their tools. I work with industrial electrical boards and wanted a reliable tester from a big brand, however this tester from Wiha disappointed me. It's impossible to trust this device. The quality of the tester is poor, not the usual Wiha quality. After opening the package and inserting the included batteries, the device didn't work. After checking to see what was wrong, I saw a bent contact. I fixed it and the tester started, but should leave the battery cover a bit loose. If you tighten the cap, the tester will not start. By the way, it is not easy to unscrew and screw on the cap.The tester is very, very sensitive. If you test a neutral wire, the tester indicates the presence of voltage and when you remove the tester from the wire, it continues indicating voltage for some time. In a group of wires it isn't possible identify which wires are energized and which aren't. For this tester, all leads are energized. Furthemore, if near the working area are some devices like a TV or computer monitor, this tester indicates presence of voltaje in the air...Unfortunately I am unable to return this tester, because I live outside USA. My advice is: save your money and don't buy this tester.
