First off, this is a very close replica of the Malco TS1, which I have owned for years. That cutter has seen a lot of action, but everything wears down eventually.This cutter seems to cut very similar, with the same difficulties I had with the Malco. They take some getting used to if you want to have a controlled cut. The cutters are a hair longer and are a little harder to cut over the ridges in building metal. They also feel a little more cheaply made in hand, I suspect they will not last as long. That being said, for the price, they will be a value to DIY'ers, especially if you cut flat, thin metal, such as HVAC metal.

Got these not expecting a whole lot, but figured it'd be a nice timesaver if they worked, over manually snipping/grinding to cut out 55 gallon drum tops for burner barrels. They work beautifully for that , and Amazingly they cut through some pretty thick aluminum plate (about 1/8 inch thick) using my trusty Makita 18V drill. I'd been considering getting an air powered nibbler for the drum cutting thing, but then found these, and thought it was worth a shot. They have impressed me so far, so I give them 5 stars.

I'm cutting metal roofing with this. Much smoother and quieter than using a disc. There is no debris. Cuts smooth and clean. This is a solid, well made tool. The price is unbelievably good! I think you have to try other methods of cutting sheet metal first to really appreciate this tool.

These drill-powered shears work great. They are solidly built - the steel sidewalls are a full 1/2 inch thick, and the jaws are nearly 1/4 inch thick, too. The handle is just cheap plastic, though. Nevertheless, I like using the handle, as it's a bit awkward to make a straight cut without it. And, it does take some practice to get the hang of coordinating the drill while trying to steer with your left hand. (The handle can only be used on the left side). The device is heavily geared, so the jaws aren't moving fast, but they generate a lot of cutting force. They also do a decent job on plastic, too. Because they actually shear the plastic, you get a cleaner cut than with a saw or grinder.

I don't know how others work but there is not a lot of movement when the drill is spinning. The jaws don't open & close much. The blades are sharp. Has an attachable side handle which is smart.

This cuts it clean and smooth.Worked fine on galvanized sheet metal.I like that the handle grip to guide this cutter can be positioned in any of 365 degrees around the cutter. So right handed, left handed, above/below, etc..This DOES come with a 5/32” allen wrench, but with no place to store the wrench. Ordered this Metal Sheer Cutting Tool for helping me on my new shop and Lean Too roof. Few months ago I added a Lean Too on my shop bldg. I recently bought enough metal roofing to re-roof my shop and the new Lean Too roof, all the same color so it will look good when finished. Recently while shopping online for some galvanized roofing screws,I saw this metal cutting sheer and was reading about how it's made and how it works. After understanding that it actually operates with an average type drill, I ordered it. This is one nice tool and one of my favorites now.This thing really works!. When trying it out on some pretty heavy grade sheet metal strips, it cuts straight and right thru to other end just like cutting thru butter. Love this sheer. Before starting on my new roof, I practiced on a few different type sheet metal pieces to get the hang of it and how to operate it. I then started on my roofing metal.It cuts lots straighter than I could with my old manual hand clipper sheers. It looks like a factory job when cuts are made with this tool. I like how it works, and how well it's made. It's designed and made with strong chrome vanadium steel and the cutting sheer jaws are hardened and very sharp. It works good with my craftsman and dewalt drill.It will also cut thru other metals and fiberglass sheets just like the roofing metal. It's really amazing to me just how fast it will actually cut thru a whole sheet of roofing metal. It's sure saves a lot of time. It's designed with an adjustable drill housing design to set it for right hand use or left handed people. It easily earns a (5) star rating in my opinion

It works as expected, making it almost effortlessly to cut sheet metal with the assistance of an electric drill. A simple but effective idea. It is a bit heavy and I'm glad it comes with a handle which is probably the only part where quality was not well thought out. When I first received it, the ring-shaped part of that handle was broken into several pieces in the box it came in. It was quickly replaced and so far I have not had any issues. However, because of that first experience, I can't but be anxious about it getting broken with normal usage. It seems that you could use another handle though.Still, everything else feels solid and I like it.
