I would rate it a 5, but it did not come with the drill bit needed for install. The sleeve anchors that come with it are fine. Just keep in mind that they work best in solid brick or concrete and you want to drill down to just the length of the sleeve or slightly more. Unfortunately, for me only 2 of the 8 holes went into solid brick - I installed on stairs made of brick and 6 of the holes went through hole areas in the brick. For those, I had to keep tightening to get about the top 1 inch of the sleeve compressed into the brick resulting in the screws coming out about 1.25 inches and needing to be cutoff to put the cap on - not a problem with the product, rather where it is installed. I may end up taking those bolts out and putting in a different product. The rail it self is very solid and should last a long time - I have mine in the garage, so it will not be in the weather.

I bought two of these units to install on the stairs in my garage to the upstairs loft. It has a 90 degree turn, so these two made it just about perfect. They assemble very easily with the tools supplied with it. You will need either a hammer drill to install on concrete. I installed mine on 2" thick wooden stairs and they are solid. Four screws per post and look good. The anchor screws for wood and the concrete anchors are included. A good product and value.

Used as a safety railing from outdoor concrete landing down the steps. I doubted the sturdiness of the concrete anchors, but they work fine. Very strong after installed per their instructions.

These are the second set we’ve bought for our stairs. They work excellent, easy to install, and worth every penny. They vacuum like regular carpet, but aren’t super thick. They’re just peel and stick for easy install, but they don’t come off with wear. When you have to replace one it didn’t leave any residue or anything behind either.

I liked that it was easy to assemble but not so easy to install in concrete. The concrete lag bolts were very cheap. No drill bit size was given to drill into concrete. I had to go online to find that out. Even with the correct hole size the lag bolts had to be hammered into the drilled hole and it would bend or dis form the threaded bolt. There was no mention of how deep to drill the holes and very difficult to remove from hole once installed if not deep enough. I would still buy one again but would go to a hardware store and purchase a 3/8” redhead lag bolt and also the lag bolt install tool so as not to deform threaded portion of the lag bolt. When you buy a redhead lag bolt the drill bit size for the hole and its depth is shown on packaging. Also the rail is a painted rail and not powder coated. It scratches very easily. Ours tipped over on to concrete while installing and got severely scratched. We used a black touch up paint marker to cover up the scratches. It looked nice and felt sturdy once installed.

I was happy with how easily it went together and installed. I used a hammer drill and concrete bit to install the concrete anchor bolts provided. From box opening to installed rail was less than an hour. Once installed, it seems very solid.I give it 4/5 due to the paint finish. It rained in the evening the day I installed it. It started rusting the day after it was installed. I had some paint left over from another project, so it's touched-up now, but disappointing that it started rusting in less than 24 hours.

I installed this railing on my mom's back steps that lead into our garage. It's a great railing and we both use it for stability. If installing the posts into concrete, make sure you drill the holes a couple inches extra deep. On the first post, I didn't drill deep enough and I had a heck of time getting the anchor bolts to go into the concrete. On the second post, I drilled extra deep and they went in easy and worked just like they should. We're planning to install 2 more of these railings for our front porch, too!

I needed a railing for the few steps inside my house, not wanting wood, I purchased this railing instead, it is very will made, easy to assembly, sleek, sturdy and cheap compared to others I looked at, at home improvement stores and on-line.

We had three steps going off of our back patio and we got very high prices for custom ironwork railings. We purchased this because we really needed to get something on those steps for safety. They were easy to install and worked for us. The quality was not the best, but it works.
