Works very well. Not as stiff as others I’ve tried, and comfortable enough to wear all night.

I purchased this night split in an effort to relieve my plantar fasciitis pain.I have been wearing the Vive splint for 3 weeks and I would say it has helped. Before the splint, when I would roll out my foot on a lacrosse ball in the morning, it took about 3 minutes before the pain was gone. With the splint it only takes about 30 seconds.I get on average 12k steps a day, and even wearing the splint at night, by the end of the day my foot is in a lot of pain, so I wouldn't say that this splint is causing a major difference, but it is certainly helpful!!!Comfort- I am a side sleeper so I was worried it was going to be hard to adjust to sleeping with such a large splint compared to the smaller sock-like versions. But, I have no trouble sleeping in this Vive splint! You can even walk around in it to go to the bathroom without needing to take it off.The bands to attach it are very adjustable and it comes with a few extra pads around the calf and toes, so you can adjust it to your own leg and foot comfort and size.Size - I wear a women's 11 so I got the large, but I think I should have gone with the xl as my toes stick off the edge a slite bit.Overall- I think this is a great option for people who suffer from plantar fasciitis in the morning - in addition to rolling out your feet and other methods to stretch the tendon. It is easy to sleep in, and super adjustable.

This product really does help recovery from plantar fasciitis (PF)! Some people have PF for 6 weeks, others for a year or more. I fell into the latter category. I was stubborn about wearing a night splint because it seemed hideous looking. After 7 months of chronic daily pain I finally tried wearing a night splint. The first one I tried was the Ace brand night splint and it was horrible- extremely uncomfortable/painful on the foot and I couldn't tolerate it for more than an hour. I also tried Strassburg sock - expensive and uncomfortable. Then I tried this by Vive and it was wonderful! It's comfortable to wear all night long and doesn't seem "hot" like other reviewers said. The brace is very cushioned and once it's on, you don't even notice it. It provided IMMEDIATE morning relief the very first time I wore it! Those "first steps" out of bed in the morning felt magically improved. A stubborn case of PF doesn't cure overnight, so the afternoon pain after working on my feet did remain for a while. But within a month or so using this boot regularly my PF overall is finally getting better. I WISH I WOULD HAVE TRIED THIS PRODUCT SOONER and maybe I wouldn't have had such a persistent case of PF.How it works (based on my experience): without a night splint, the microtears in the plantar fascia of the foot heal while sleeping but the foot naturally drops forward (plantar flexion position) in bed, therby shortening the muscle. As getting out of bed and putting weight on the foot, the muscle gets stretched and everything that healed overnight tears again; day after day, week after week. But using the splint kept my foot in dorsiflexion position (foot/ankle upwards, calf flexed) and the muscle healed in an elongated position and therefore did not tear upon standing in the morning. It also helped me to do some GENTLE stretching/loosening up before getting out of bed and doing CALF STRETCHES throughout the day/before bed at night.Final notes: the boot seems to run a little large. I kept the size they recommended but if my foot was smaller, I would have sized down. Kudos to VIVE for finally offering a night splint that is comfortable to wear! They do a wonderful job of easing my Plantar Fasciitis pain, and are comfortable enough to wear every night while sleeping. They use a rigid plastic boot for the structure, which is similar to their competitors (the ones that use big, clunky plastic buckles for attachment to the foot). The big difference with the VIVE splint is that the plastic shell is covered with a soft padded material. Nice product, but could be much better with a different material. The padded material is great for the inside of the boot, but not so good for the outside. The fuzzy fabric serves as the "loop" side of Velcro, and does a fine job of fastening to the "hook" material on the straps...for a while. After wearing these on both feet every night for a couple of months, the fuzzy covering is starting to lose its grip. I will typically find one or two straps undone when I wake up in the morning, and I am sure this number will increase as the fabric continues to wear. Velcro's own loop material will wear out eventually too, but at a much slower rate. The "grippyness" of the material acts a little like Velcro on your bed sheets, too; it makes it difficult to slip your feet under the covers and back out again. And changing positions in the middle of the night is a real pain; the boots grip the sheets and each other, usually causing one or more of the straps to come loose. Just for laughs, I wrapped a pair of cheap satin pillowcases around my feet after putting on the boots, and the slickness really make a big difference getting in and out of bed. Not a good solution for walking in, however. :-) Also, very amusing to the spouse!Although these boots are not intended for walking around in, it is unrealistic to think that people will take them off just to visit the bathroom in the middle of the night. My wife and I were initially amused to find that the walking on the padded material sounds exactly like walking on fresh snow; it becomes less amusing every time I awaken her with my nightly "snow walks". Plus, the material can be slippery on a tile floor. Here are my suggestions for improvement:1. Keep the padded, breathable material on the inside of the boot, but switch to a slicker polyester material on the outside to make it easier to slip under the sheets. There is already a seam where the inside and outside sections are sewn together, so the same pattern could be used. The straps should also have the slick material on the outside to help prevent having them unfastened by friction with the sheets.2. Add a small amount of rubbery material to the bottom (maybe an applied material like the treads on hospital socks) that will enhance grip when walking, but not so much that it will grip the sheets. This approach would also maintain the washability of the covering.3. Instead of using the padded material itself to act as the "loop" side of Velcro, sew in genuine Velcro loop material only where needed on the back of the boot (just as the "hook" side of the Velcro is sewn into the straps now). It will be much more durable, and you won't have to worry about it gripping the sheets.I still recommend purchasing this item, but I sincerely hope the manufacturer will make some improvements in the future. It is a good product, but could be a GREAT product with a few tweaks!

these splints are bulky but comfortable and they are effective in what they are designed to do. I wish they had a left and right because its a little uncomfortable trying to put the same shoe on different feet. Also the velcro gets caught on the leg, be it left or right, while walking and turning in bed. The result is you rip off the velcro on the other leg and trip yourself if your not careful. I would recommend to the manufacturer to make a right and left just by reversing the way the velcro straps go on the unit. Simple! I may cut them off and sew them back on to create an opposite foot. It will be very easy to do. You can see in the picture next to this review the straps go from left to right all away around. Thats a right foot and oddly enough thats the one with the problem because the velcro at the end of the strap gets caught on the left foot if you are wearing them on both feet like I do. On the left foot that velcro is on the outside of the leg not the inside like we see in this picture. ******* I have worn these now for about a month. These are very bulky as I said before and the velcro is ruining my comforter and blanket. they should use adjustable buckles on these boots. I think I'm going to buy another type of boot. These keep your feet in the right position and give good stretch but the velcro got clogged quickly and is just too difficult to work with when wearing on both feet at the same time. If you have a sleeve to put over the boot to keep the straps from ripping off then these are great, otherwise keep looking, sorry.
