This isn't built well. They handle split when tightening them down. I couldn't get it sharp enough to cut the grass.

I got about 3 evenings worth of use out of mine before the blade bent and it'll need quite a bit of bending to rest tenth ten it for use again if able to be used again at all, not sure yet! But the wooden handles and the curved metal handle worked great! The blade had to be sharpened soon as it arrived it was in rough condition! The instructions are wrong the way they tell you the directions the woods handles should be attached for best resulting operation!! Quite a steep learning curve for a beginner to learn how to use, I'm faster and do a better job with my two short 18" scythes! Once I get it fixed and put some welding on the blade to reinforce it maybe with some more practice it'll get better, I haven't given up on it yet!

When assembled, the wooden handgrips would not securely tighten to the snath. The curved snath design and connection is weak; not made for heavy use. The blade is of good quality, but without a durable snath, it was also useless.

I wanted to buy a scythe to cut my tall grass in the backyard. My grass outside of our fence is about 2 to 8ft tall. So I wanted to purchase something that can cut them down. So I was looking into scythes to get the job done. Most real scythes you can purchase online and will run about 300-500 dollars. I was okay with that price but when on Amazon I saw this! I was like okay something is up because it’s only 60 bucks but hey why not give it a try. I purchased the scythe and my gosh what a wreck. The handles are not realiable at all. Installing the handles would not stay in place and when you do try and tighten them down the wood would start to crack and the handles were useless. So I decided to try it out on the grass and I was swinging away at the grass and nothing was getting cut. I’m a 260 pound guy who has good strength and nothing was getting cut no matter how hard or how the angle was being used. If you are trying to use the scythe for its intended purpose, invest into a real one. This is the case of “you get what you pay for”. This is nothing more than an expensive prop. The functionality is completely wrong. This isn’t a topic of if it is easy to use or not. This is just a topic of that this scythe is nothing what it’s supposed to do. I would highly recommend to shop elsewhere. I ended up buying a machete from condor and the grass is super easy to cut. Now that is what was supposed to happen. Final thoughts: do not purchase if you want to use a scythe for cutting high grass
