Self-regulating Technology

Because of the inner part of the irradiated self-regulating heating core, our pipe heat cable can automatically adjust its power output to compensate for the temperature changes of the pipe. The multi-layer design also makes it more durable, ensuring that it lasts up to 3 years!

Accurate Build-in Thermostat

The thermostat turns the heating cable on 43℉(close to freezing) and shuts it off when the temp. is approximately 55℉(well above freezing). The thermostat needs to have contact with your pipe to keep track of the temperature and heat up accurately.

Test Before Installation

Uncoil the cable, plug in, and then put the thermostat part into an ice bucket for a few minutes. When the temperature is below 43 F°, the thermostat will energize the cable to work. Normally, you will be able to feel the slight warmth on the heating cable in a few minutes. Then, you can turn it off.

Q&A

1. Where can it be used?

-Basement, crawl space, garage, RV water hose, outside hydrant, pipe valve, faucet, drain, washing machine/HAVC/heater drain line... Meets all your requirements!

2. What type of pipes can it be used for?

-For ABS, PVC Plastic hose, copper, galvanized, steel pipe. The pipe heat cables can be used on pipes that are not always filled with water. Pipe diameter: 1/2 in ~2 in.

3. How to install the heating pipe?

-Straight-traced/spiral/overlap. The thermostat should be in full contact with the pipe. No risk of overheating!

4. Why is there a thermostat on a self-regulating heating cable?

-The Thermostat allows the heating cable to completely shut off and draw (effectively) no power until it detects temperatures below 37ºF. Once it turns on, the self-regulating technology directs heat to the cold area(s) of the cable. Stops heating when the pipe temp. is 55ºF.

very easy installation with packaging providing fiberglass tape. Works as advertised. Installed it in a water closet in the garage where we already had a burst pipe this year. Went down to 22 deg last week, came on when it dipped below 43 deg and off above 55 deg. No burst pipes!

We have a combi boiler for domestic water and heat, the drainage comes out the back of the house and it kept freezing and blocking it with the nasty weather lately. Decided to give this a try after I saw another suggest it and so far it’s worked great. No blockage or freezing and the pipe doesn’t overheat. I wish I would’ve tried this sooner!

Used for winterizing a 3 season cottage on the lake in north Ontario. Was working great 0 issues. The power did go out and all the pipes froze solid. We lost the pump but none of the pipes cracked. Once power was restored it was about 3 hours before these had thawed all the lines. Overall very happy with the first winter, need to get an automated generator or a battery system for these cables in case of power issues

Even though I had a heated water hose but the spigot froze on the encased water supply. I used it to thaw it out and it worked great all winter and every winter no for 3 years.

I never knew about this stuff. Well I knew it existed but never thought about it. Until I ordered some. I live in a 5th wheel RV, therefore my water lines are outside and open to the elements and a major freeze was forecast. (I live in the deep south.) I wrapped all my faucets and water line with this, a run of about 36ft, plugged it in, and left it. Just in time! two nights later a hard freeze arrived that most certainly would have burst my pipes, and it lasted 3 nights with 2 days never getting above 27deg. The icicles were everywhere, except around my pipes because this product works so incredibly well. It turned itself on precisely, and it gets HOT! Not so hot that you can't hold it in your hand, but warm enough to keep anything near it from freezing. Bravo, Made in the USA!

I needed the pipes in the barn to not freeze during cold spells. This cord works great and is flexible enough to wrap around the taps for the hose to attach to. I still bring the hose in the house overnight but filling up water troughs in winter is less of a task now.

I like everything about this except none of the 3 that I've bought turn on until it drops to 32 degrees instead of 40s.

In preparation for the cold weather that was upon us, I purchased this for the water line in an uninsulated warehouse. Right out of the box I was impressed by the quality of this tape compared to others and the price is just right. The installation was very easy and fast, and I did use the included shipping tape to secure it to the water line but found the tape was losing its stickiness about a week after it was installed although it has held on, perhaps zip ties would be better suited for this. The built-in thermostat has worked great now that it's getting tested on a regular basis and I've had no issues with the pipes freezing.

Quality product with good ease of use. Came with Instructions and it's own Tape to use on my Drinking water hose. In PA it gets pretty cold in the winter and with the hose lying on the ground plus the wind chill we get it's very easy for your campground Drinking hose to Freeze even during the daytime. I have used 2 different other products for my water. First was a cheap version of the 2nd which is the one that was recommended by many people in our campground and even the owner and the owner is an intelligent hard working man. This hose heater is 40' and I use a 35' hose and I have never felt the water to be warm in the low 20° s F. So far the best Hose Heating Cable by far I have ever used. I would definitely recommend this Product over some others. Yes, definitely better than what you can buy at H.Depot or Lowes! This beats them hands down with ease! Thanks VEVOR , one he'll of a great product!

I wrapped insulation around in the form of a pool noodle which kept the warmth around the pipe. It keeps the water from freezing and it works well.

Works as expected but in cool/cold temp this is not very flexible. Like wrapping a pipe with a slinky.. stiff.
