The heat tape arrived well-packaged and included clear instructions for installation. It was easy to install, and the cable is long enough to cover a good length of pipe. The adhesive backing also made it simple to attach the heat tape securely to the pipe. The heat tape has a thermostat that automatically adjusts the temperature based on the surrounding environment, which helps to save energy. The cable also has a built-in indicator light that lets you know when the heat tape is working, which provides peace of mind. Since installing the heat tape, I have not experienced any issues with frozen pipes. The product has effectively prevented freezing and has been working efficiently. Overall, I highly recommend the 15FT Heat Tape for Water Pipes by R.W. FLOOD COMPANY. It is a reliable and efficient solution for protecting water pipes from freezing during the winter months.

No worries about pipes freezing, anymore. Even if the power goes out, the insulation I added should keep the warmth from this in there long enough.Don't wait until the pipes freeze to install this.If I needed to, I could use an inverter or generator to heat it back up, but I'll also have the water running in trickles, so it should be alright. This heated up really fast and puts out plenty of heat to keep a whole 4' x 8' badly insulated pump house above freezing. It's been 20°-30°F here at night. I knew I needed something to warm the pipes, so I had no excuse for not installing this before the pipes froze. Luckily, it wasn't too bad and nothing cracked or burst.Taking chances that might cause me to be working on pipes, with burning hands and gritty, stiff gloves soaked with cold water in freezing temperatures when I could have not needed to do that..? Yeah... the second the water stopped flowing normally I got right on it.

We needed extra protection for a propane heater under the eaves. This allows for year-round use beneath fiberglass insulation.

The cable is fairly light weight. It feels sturdy enough and includes a built-in self regulating thermostat. Other brands have been more rigid and feel more durable. The plug has a light to indicate power is on which is great. The termination end of the cable is finished off well and no tools required to install. They did include a roll of electrical tape. I think the fiberglass tape would serve as a better method for longterm use. This is a decent kit for RV use. I would opt for a heavier-duty cable for a well pump. It is definately an affordable kit and fair value for the money.

I ordered this to replace an older tape that didn't have a sensor and was overheating. This tape was just the right size and works great. The sensor turns it on and off so I don't have to keep plugging and unplugging it. It regulates the amount of heat needed and doesn't draw too much power. Overall, 5 stars.
