I kept it longer than normal thinking it would eventually work correctly. The unit that goes in the pool goes through batteries like there’s no tomorrow, it doesn’t speak to the base (indoor unit), unit that goes in the pool builds up condensation on the inside where the electronics are (not waterproof), and here we are less than two months of ownership and the digital readout has stopped working properly. Amazon says the time for return has passed. I’m hoping they’ll make an exception. Don’t waste your money.

This seems to be accurate, have had for over a month with no issues, we are very satisfied with the overall design and quality. Will definitely purchase again if needed.

The unit does require some minor assembly but was actually easy to do. It works very well however there is one issue which is we only have intermittent reading on the home base unit and no one seems to know the fix.

Edit UPDATE: Do Not buy, this thing lasted about 2-3 weeks before the sensor broke completely and stopped transmitting to the inside unit. The screen stopped displaying anything after 3 weeks and there was condensation inside. I tried to upload pictures but it won't let me. There is rust on the inside of the "watertight" seal.I have gone through roughly 4 different pool thermometers, all claiming to last a lifetime. From the rubber duckie, to the pink flamingo long cylindrical type thermometer. This on the other hand has worked from the second I opened it , dropped in some batteries, and put it into the pool. To note what you need to do is follow the instructions about pairing the pool thermometer to the inside household wireless receiver. Make sure the pairing is good and drop in the pool thermometer. After pairing I brought the wireless receiver inside to my kitchen window, so I can look at the pool and see the temp. I have been using it solidly for the last 3 weeks and have not noticed any problems. The display is very large and the pool thermometer has been flawless thus far, would definitely buy again.

It is almost impossible to set up and it’s too complicated. I threw it in the trash ten minutes after opening the package. It’s not worth the time, money or effort to return it.

Purchased the middle of July.. we had an issue of losing communication between the thermometer and the display. I moved it next to the pool and it worked for a while. Then half of the digital display on the thermometer stopped. Hasn’t worked since. Would like to get it replaced.
