Now why does someone need a USB switch? Well, I use it to switch my keyboard and mouse between the two desktops on my desk and it works perfectly.I have a personal pc and work computer next to each other and this USB switch lets me save space and only have one set of peripherals. I'm running a gaming keyboard and mouse for personal use and the USB switch hasn't degraded performance at all. They still feel responsive with no lag.I will say, I do wish the cables it came with were longer since I could consider them on the shorter side. This was easily resolved but just note, if you think the cables look short in the pictures, then they are actually that short.

I am very impressed with its quality. I am using this device on a Windows desktop and a Ubuntu laptop. Hardwired USB keyboard and mouse. Zero problems setting up and works flawlessly. It is very small, about the size of three packs of gum. It includes three cables, USB-A to USB-A x2 and USB-A to USB-C plus two USB-A to USB-C adapters. The cables and adapters alone are worth the price. Excellent value.

I’ve been using it for a few months now and it has been working great. Very easy to connect and switching happens by clicking a conveniently placed button. There is a slight delay of 2-3 seconds, but that isn’t an issue.Overall recommendation and good value for money.

I have a wired keyboard and mouse attached. Upon powerup or switching, both mouse and keyboard appear to start (their LEDs turn on). After they are initialized in 2~3 seconds, the mouse only works 20% of the time. When the mouse does work, it works perfectly. If the keyboard is unplugged or in a separate port on a computer, the mouse works fine through the switch; but I need them both to be switched.Symptoms:The mouse jumps as if all the USB data packets for movement from the previous 2-3 seconds are received at once. Packets are definitely getting lost and/or corrupted because mouse button-up/-down/-click are often completely lost.Testing:Symptoms are the same for both computers (8 yo Win10 laptop and brand new Win11 minipc) and it happens on all ports (3.0 and 2.1) on both computers. It doesn't matter if external power is supplied to the switch or not. My keyboard and mouse are both USB 2 devices using Generic USB drivers from Microsoft. I also tested with my Logitech gaming mouse. It experiences the same symptoms with its specific driver.Details:Windows reports the switch as a USB2.1 Hub using Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub and Generic USB Hub drivers. I find that strange as SuperSpeed only exists on USB 3+ (blue plastic inside the ports vs. black). Per my understanding, it should be listed as a USB3.0 Hub which is backward compatible to USB 1. Interestingly, the Surface uses the same USB controller chip (VID=05E3, PID=0610), but those drivers don't work at all on my Win11 PC.Conclusion:I suspect it is a timing problem during initialization causing USB 3.0/2.1 confusion in the cheap controller chip Benfei uses. Or, it could very well have a buggy keylogger reporting everything one types back to the CCP. Benfei does not offer support, firmware or drivers for it, so we won't know until I HACK IT!

I recently purchased this USB 3.0 switch to simplify my setup between my work laptop and home desktop, and I couldn't be happier. This switch makes sharing peripherals between multiple computers a breeze. Just plug in the devices (like my keyboard, mouse, and external hard drive) into the switch, and with a single button press, I can seamlessly switch between my devices. The USB 3.0 speed is fantastic—I haven't noticed any lag when transferring files or even using my webcam across both computers. The build quality feels solid, and I appreciate the compact design, which saves space on my desk.Installation was also a breeze; it was as simple as plug-and-play, with no additional drivers required. This device has been a game-changer, saving me from constantly plugging and unplugging devices. It’s an excellent, practical solution for anyone with a multi-computer setup and has really streamlined my workspace. Highly recommended!

This Switching USB HUB delivers on all its promises. Smooth Switching back & forth between computers. I use Logitech Wireless Mouse & Keyboard + a 256GB USB Drive i share between computers and the switch is FAST AND SEAMLESS. Very few of these USB HUBS out there come apart easily for mounting under the desk. This is the 3rd one i've identified. I'll link those below if your looking for an easy solution for Under Desk Mounting. As with all of them that come apart easy the back cover is just held on by 4-6 or so clips. Most USB HUBS i can't figure out how to get them apart. You'll need a TINY Flathead Screwdriver to separate the back. It's always been quick and easy. A minute or 2 you should have the back off. I did however break one of the clip as i think i've done on every one i've tried bc you're blindly hunting around for the clips to release. Breaking 1 or even 2 Will make no difference since you have at least another 4 clips to hold it together - not to mention all the ones i've tried have mounting pegs/dowels that help to hold everything in place and line everything up.Having said that i've attached some pics to help anyone do this flawlessly. Sorry, i forgot to get pics of the back screwed in under the desk before i snapped everything back together. So for reference i've attached pics that show you exactly where the mounting clips are and areas to put your screws. DO NOT PUT YOUR MOUNTING SCREW/S OVER ANY METAL PARTS INSIDE. There's plenty of room to find mounting spots.1st Two Pics are Post Mount. PIC 3 shows the back cover separated from the rest of the HUB and you can also see part of the hub with PCB Board. I've Highlighted in Yellow where the clips are. There's 2 on the back and front long side of the backplate and 2 on the skinny or narrow side. PIC 4 is just of the backplate and i've highlighted ALL OF THE CLIPS In Yellow. PIC 5 is of the PCB BOARD with all the electronics, ports, etc... I've put YELLOW ARROWS as to where to put the screws through on the backplate so when you put everything back together there's no contact with anything metal and the screws are low profile so they shouldn't even touch the board. PIC 6 is the type of screws i used. They're just random screws for computer stuff i've accumulated over the years that i threw in a box and they all have a point on the end of them. DO NOT use screws with a flat end. For reference i took a pic of the screws next to a bottle cap. NOTICE - they all have a flange on them which really helps for holding everything down. I predrilled the holes with a tiny Drill Bit after lining up the backplate and getting it just where i wanted it. Start with 1 screw, get it where you want it and the rest are a piece of cake. DO NOT over tighten as the screw can snap off. Just good & snug is all you need. I just used 3 or 4 screws. I mean it's an almost weightless USB HUB - it doesn't take much to secure it. It's a 15 - 20 Minute Job TOPS.As for other USB 3.x HUBs I've found that come apart easily for Under Desk Mounting- Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with 5Gbps Data Transfer: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00XMD7KPU - I've been using this since like 2017. I have a review on it as well and go over Under Desk Mounting- SABRENT 4 Port USB 3.0 Hub with Individual LED Lit Power Switches : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TPMEOYMBeen using this one for a couple of years, Works great, and i like it bc you can turn ports on and off with the press of a button.- VIENON USB 3.0 Hub (5 in 1), USB C Hub, USB C to USB 3.0 Hub Adapter with USB Chttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CX4LCTPCMy newest one. Haven't used it yet but the back came off super easy. Just take a small Flat Head Screw Driver, pry up on a spot, it should detach a little bit then with your finger you can pry the back up a little bit and you'll start seeing the remaining clips as you release them 1 by 1. There's like 8 clips but they're super easy to release. I got this one on my 1st try. Took me less than a minute and i had the back off of it without breaking a single clip.
