As far as switching between computers this works fine. However there is one important point to be aware of: It appears to join together the USB power (5 volts) from the two computers. I have noticed that when I try to shut one down it will not fully shut down until the other one is fully powered off.I have proved this by unplugging one of the USB connections from this selector and seeing the first computer then fully power off. It has not caused any damage yet but it is a bad design and could cause damage in some hardware situations.I believe that the manufacturers should address this issue. I am an electronics engineer and believe that it is not difficult for it to isolate the USB power from each computer.Additional comment: A did actually suffer a situation in which the USB power of one of the two computers failed to come up. I have now plugged in a "PortaPow USB Power Blocker" ( 5 GBP from Amazon ) in one of the USB connections to this selector. It all works fine now with the knowledge that the device is now only being powered by one computer and the 5 volts of the two are no longer connected together.

I purchased this to allow me to use my same webcam on two different laptops, it came with two USB cables so was a straightforward job to connect up, and worked instantly from both computers at the press of a button. The only slight niggle I have is with the location of the ports, on hindsight it would have been better to get a switch with all 3 ports on the back so that I don't have a cable sticking out the front and across my desk, but that is a minor issue and not a reflection on this switch which is a well made product.

I have a very expensive ergonomic keyboard and limited desk space. After trying numerous options that failed, I got this. Press the button, wait 3-5 seconds, and my keyboard switches flawlessly from a Mac to a PC. I’m sure it works for other applications, but this was mine.

For a few months this switch worked great, letting go from my Mac to my PC with the press of a button. Then, for no reason, I turned on my Mac and mouse (connected to the switch) wouldn't work.I unplugged and re-plugged the switch. No luck. Did the same with the USB adapter; no luck. Eventually I figured out that the only way to make things work was to unplug and re-plug the cable going to the PC *EVERY TIME I SWITCHED BACK TO THE MAC*. If I didn't, the Mac simply wouldn't work.Don't buy this garbage unless you only need a switch for a few months.

I have two of them one of them switches between the Fire stick and the x box .The other one switches my two screens between being used for my Home Laptop and my work laptop .Instead of having one screen for each . I can use both screens on both with a click of a button .

Protect appeared to be well built, and looked good, Thus the five stars. Provided cables were good quality. Note: Product does not pass through Copy Protected Signal. Bought this and another vendors to test, Neither did. What I was trying to do: connect a I-phone 15 pro max to a Dragonfly cobalt DAC, to pass High Res, Lossless music to head-unit, aux in, and connect the other input to the USB car input to pass I pod, signal, so I would NOT have to connect and disconnect phone each time. The i pod signal passed fine, it's NOT lossless, the signal from Apple Music would NOT play through DAC, at any speed , and DAC displayed Red Standby Mode, Unless connected directly to i-phone, Wired offers a better signal, Both can play through Carplay wireless and wired, DAC will only work Wired, and connected directly to phone, No switch. Can't blame Vendor, or Amazon, Product Functioning as designed to. doing exactly what it was suppose to do. If you are considering this Just Note, it does Not pass through Copy Protected material, (For me anyway)

I recently got this USB 3.0 switch because my work laptop only has two USB ports and one has my mouse on it. This switch works perfectly for connecting and toggling between my printer and USB conference phone. Very satisfied with its performance. Haven’t experienced any lag or connectivity issues. The build quality is solid and the switch feels durable. Highly recommend.

I used this usb switcher in my 2020 Hyundai Elantra to switch between Carplay and USB Media Stick to play the music I like when I'm not using Carplay and switch seemlessly to Carplay for Navigation when needed. Finally found a solution to my "1 USB port for all" problem in Cars. Must try this work around.

I use this to switch between my two computers so that I can keep my mouse and keyboard setup whichever I'm using. I have it connected to a USB splitter with my mouse/keyboard, and then to each computer through the 1 and 2 ports. I push the button, and now I'm controlling my other computer. Simple and effective.I heard that this type of device might cause latency for mouse/keyboards, but I have not noticed that at all, even when I game.
