This is the perfect tape if you need to check for square or need a measurement where you can’t have stretch like those plastic measuring tapes do.

We do commercial concrete work and have purchased many of these tapes (this exact model) over the years from various vendors. While they are a serviceable steel tape option they just are not very durable or long lasting for the kind of use we give them. Crank handle breakage is common and also ends coming off of the tape or even the steel tape itself braking. Try "N6200 open reel" instead.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas. He used it today for the first time and it broke, first use. The plastic tip that holds the tape from unraveling broke off. Very disappointing!!! Can I get a replacement?

Works as it should. does not stretch. Reels in nicely. True to other brands increments. Stanley, Lufkin, etc. We have one in each of three work trucks. (Concrete) This one replaced same with a broken reel handle. This is the only part that’s flimsy. Broken one is still usable but hard to reel in without handle.

Buyer beware- these models are no longer made in America. I was unhappy to say the least to see "Made in China" on my newly purchased measuring tape, especially from a company called "US Tape". Their website is somewhat misleading as to which of their products are American made.Other than that, the tape seems well-made, but I would not have purchased it had I known its origin beforehand.Amazon needs a country-of-origin feature!
