Easy to use; tray does not sit easily

New scale arrived with something loose inside. The overall quality is not good. There were scratches on the body, as well as some dirt mark on seams. Seams are not smooth, and show signs of poor quality manufacturing and finishing.For assembly, you screw on an X bracket to the load sensor, which even when tightened down is still loose (can rotate it 20 degrees or so). There are slip on rubber tips that go on the X bracket, on which you set the weigh pan. The fit is not very good as the rubber tips are slightly larger than the pan. So you have to squish the rubber to fit within the pan borders.The scale came with 4 x 500g calibration weights. The plug on the bottom of one of these was loose, so some the of tiny beads came out of the hole, another sign of poor manufacturing and quality control. The scale did register close to 500g with one of these weights (499.98). Unfortunately, multiple weighings of the same item do vary slightly, up to 0.1g. The zeroed out tare reading would also move up to about 0.1g once the weighed item was removed on many occasions. So precision and stability is not very good with this scale.On the plus side can be powered with an included AC adapter, or with a 9V battery.There is no phone number listed for the manufacturer U.S. Solid in the manual, but I did find it on their website. Called them multiple times over the course of the day and they never picked up. Left a voicemail which wasn't returned. The seller, Highest Quality Shop, seems to be the manufacturer since the item was shipped directly from U.S. Solid, and they are both listed as being in Cleveland.Worst part is that I have to pay return shipping on this defective item! Do yourself a favor and buy directly from Amazon. At least if you have issues, they'll cover the return shipping charges for a defective item.

Great value for a scale of this accuracy. Compares with Ohaus, Sintra, and other models at 4x the price. Easy calibration and use. I would buy again.
