Drills quickly into dirt cutting through roots. Works perfectly. I used it throughout my garden. Glad I got it.

Even Project Farm (youtube) says this is the best auger. The tip and cutting edges make the difference. I drill holes with a 20v cordless drill easily in my sandy soil. Perfect for planting seedlings grown in the tall tree starter nursery type pots.

As long as you have a big enough battery for your drill, this guy will drill through ice no problemWent through six and 9 inches of ice too bad I lost it in the ice though will be buying again

This auger leads you believe it will drill a 16" hole . At best it will make an 11" if you bury your drill . I opted for the 16 instead of the 12 and glad I did , but the 16 has a 3" tip that is useless , like 1/2 inch wide , 3 inches long at the bottom . The drill connect is 1 1/2 inch . So all in all you have 3 1/2 inches of non useable in the 16 inch claim . I can get a solid 12 inch hole if I bury my drill head , which I don't care to do . I believe it's a very sturdy product , but you will never get a 16 inch hole . For best results in dry ground , punch your hole , soak it a little and then finish it .

This works great. Couldn't ask for more. The augers that have a twisted point as opposed to a blunt point work great. I got a blunt point and it drilled fine for the first 4 inches then it just spun around not getting any purchase. This is the one you need.

This is an excellent device for digging small holes for saplings. We planted 12 trees in just an hour that were sent to us by Arbor Day foundation. An electric drill works best but be sure to use a wrist brace as the drill may violently twist on you if it hits a root or large rock.
