This is a very sturdy, quality build Black Handrail, Indoor, Outdoor Stair Railing. The assembly is surprisingly very easy. When I opened the first section of the railing to look closer at the style of the brace, the railing part is covered in surface scratches. The railing has a low-quality finish that scratches very easily since it was like that when I received it, under the shrink wrap. Due to this, I expect the railing will look pretty bad after use and need to be repainted. The railing I received needs to be repainted brand new out of the box due to the nicks and scratches all over it. My guess is most people won't feel that is acceptable with a new railing.As for the appearance and design aesthetics of the railing, it actually looks very much like a handicap railing to me. It has no style, and for me it leans the other way with the connecting sections of the railing that look unfinished to me or minimally unimaginative to achieve any aesthetic quality to the railing. So, I have personally chosen to not install it because I want a railing to add to the style of my home or minimally blend in with clean lines, so it doesn't distract and take away from the aesthetics of my home. For me, the railing is an eyesore, even if the finish was durable, and not damaged. That, however, is just my opinion and the style might work well for people with an industrial design for example, and it might be perfect for them. The railing achieves its purpose to provide safety for a staircase. If someone is looking for a functional, stable railing to provide safety in the house, this railing could serve them well.
