I have a Ford Mustang GT. I added long tube headers. This protects my starter from heat soak and it is the best cheap insurance you could put on your car easy and the bands are perfect.

Used it on the starter of my 350sb, where the downpipe from the manifold was about 3/16" from the solenoid.I just replaced the starter because of what I believed to be getting too hot and getting heat soaked after trips 15-20 min long in my '72 C10, it would crank a while before starting. After putting this on, actually went for a 45 min drive each way and the damn thing cranked right up. Maybe it's working! So far, so good. I'll update if anything changes. The fit was ok. I had to cut about 1 1/2" off to get it to fit between the cover and wires. Took about 10 min to install without dropping the starter. The quality seemed pretty good. I used a lighter to try to singe the freys on the edges and it wouldn't melt. Time will tell.

I have an old Land Rover and a new starter motor was put in. It wasn’t OEM and the starter would get heat soaked if the car was driven for more than 30 minutes and wouldn’t start. Instead of spending $250 or more on an OEM starter I tried this heat reflecting blanket. It cut to size easily. Make sure you have the battery unplugged as the metal on the outside of the blanket can cause the starter to spark. After putting it on and attaching the metal zip ties I haven’t had an issue with the starter motor. This saved me a bunch of money and I am happy I bought it.

Had decided to purchase this product after some embarrassing mishaps of forgetting to leave car running while getting gas so as to get home from work at a reasonable time, but when the car was shut off it would take around 30 minutes for the starter to cool and have enough power to start the car again. Arrived a day early was fairly easy to install but should come with a few simple directions likeDisconnect negative power cable, the ties only operate once and list of possible tools needed. After getting installed I decided to test drive vehicle to neighboring gas station and with a little bit of doubt I turned the car off and low and behold the car started after all lights came on and I finally cranked the engine excited so that way when I get gas I can shut car off and still get in and know the car will start. Will buy again if needed.
