Heat shield protects drivers and mechanics from burns and improve car And motorcycle performance. Before installing, soak the header heat wrap in water so that the fiberglass will not flying about. Wear gloves to avoid itching. Wrap it around your exhaust pipe, using overlap to hold it in place and simply use stainless ties to secure the ends in place.
Precautions
Caution: Keep it away from the open fire ! Capable of reducing up to 60 percentage of radiant heat.
Warning: You'd better wear long sleeve gloves when installing.
For skin irritations wash with soapy water and rinse well. For eye irritation, flush eyes with cold water.

Someone can't read a ruler. Comes-in at just under 5 feet. Thankfully I only needed a little over 2 feet to enclose my hour meter wire for my new lawn mower. Can't really give an honest review now, I just installed it and haven't run the mower yet. I can tell you that the ends fray very easily while handling and working with it, so let's hope that it doesn't continue to fray on it's own while using the mower.

The cross link webbing works well. I needed an OD larger then the 1" advertised and this product expended to fit my application. I also tucked-in (under) the frayed ends of this sleeve before sliding it over my pipe. Good product for the money.

Bought this to protect a wiring harness in my old Cub Cadet riding mower that had a bad tendency to melt because of its proximity to the exhaust. Between wrapping the exhaust with fiberglass exhaust shield and this covering, I've had zero problems since. I used a small diameter sleeve on the wiring itself and where the connector is, I put a slightly larger one that I can easily slip aside so the connector doesn't get a chance to melt either.Between that and fixing the head gaskets on the mower it made a huge difference!
