This striker-mount step fell apart as I was removing it from its box. Not very confidence-inspiring for something that is supposed to bear my body weight. Thankfully, it was just a screw that had been barely installed, and was easy to fix. I recommend tightening all fasteners when you receive this step - 4mm and 5mm allen wrenches will do the trick. This device is an improvement over the other (non-adjustable) striker-mount step I own, in a couple of areas:- The step is 9" wide; large enough to accommodate both feet- The step's ratcheting angle adjustment mechanism permits me to install it in the front or rear door jambs of my Chevrolet Blazer, which are at different angles (see pics)Overall, once all fasteners are sufficiently tightened, this step provides a stable platform for lashing down material on a roof rack or washing the roof of your vehicle. It's easy to install the step and adjust its angle, and it doesn't damage the strikers or jambs on my vehicle.

I ordered this hook on step for my Honda Pilot as I sometimes have to put things up on the roof rack and I can't reach it from the ground nor from the open door threshold. This item is all metal except for the triangular support arms that are below the door loop that are plastic. It hooks nicely into the door post loop and I am now able to step up an extra foot and a half to reach the roof. I can almost fit both of my big feet on it. The only criticism I might have is that there's a small toggle piece that is the rachet mechanism to hold the flat part at the angle desired and that small piece takes a little finagling to get it where you want it. Otherwise it should last a long while.
