Used it to replace the OEM from 20 yrs ago. We original had the UC-9050 one. The light feature hasn’t worked in 12 months but fan did. The new switch was able to have the same “dip switch” code as the old one. Took about 15 mins to install new one. It’s wonderful to have the light back on. lol

I purchased 2 of these Humpptom Ceiling Fan Wall Remote Control and Receiver Kits ( BY06-018WIFI ). Overall the installs went smooth and I like how small the receiver is and that I was able to install them in two adjacent bedrooms without remote control interference with each other . I also purchased one of Humpptom's handheld fan remotes in hopes I could also pair it to one of the fan's receivers but unfortunately they are not compatible with each other. I also like that I can control the fan 3 ways. The wall switch, the downloadable Phone App and through "Home Automation" apps like "Alexa". One design flaw is that with this paired to "Alexa" I am only able to control basic functions like turning the fan and lights "ON and OFF" it will not control the speed of the fan at all. The only way to control the speed of the fan other than the wall switch is to use the Phone App. I have also had instances where if I turn on the fan's light when entering the room with the wall switch and then turn of the light with Alexa, the next time I try to turn on the light using the wall switch it takes 2 presses of the button to get the lights to come on. All in all I am pretty pleased with this product but the Home Automation functionality could be better.

** Update - January 2025: The company sent a replacement in the fall of 2024 for the first one which stopped working. Unfortunately the replacement model suffered the same result after a couple months. Obviously poor quality overall and the first failure was not a fluke. The remote worked when installed and we were happy with it. Slowly the fan buttons stopped working, and then the light button eventually stopped as well. The only thing that works now is the manual off / on slider toggle. I will attempt to contact the company for a replacement, and update this review with any information related to their helpfulness.

All three of the lights/fans I installed these in started having issues after about a year. They were great while they worked. However, it was difficult to program the light switch to connect to the right light/fan. There are not dip switches on the new style of this device and programming instructions are useless.Room 1- after about a year of use, when pushing the light button, the light will turn on then sometimes right back off.Room 2- the switch itself had some kind of problem after a year. It still lit up/had power, but the buttons would no longer control the light or the fan. We could only turn them on by using our Google assistant.Room 3- after about a year, the fan and light switch off on their own every 15ish minutes. The light using flicks back on after a few seconds but the fan doesn't come back on until we push the button again.

This does exactly what it says it is going to do, and it's very easy to install. Very impressive, considering it doesn't require a neural. However, as others have noted, the directions are garbage, so don't even bother with them. it's easy enough to figure out, and all the lead wires are clearly marked. Also, it seems they have updated the product and removed the dip switches, so they seem to be on a fixed frequency. That being said, I installed two in the same room and haven't had any interference issues, but your mileage may vary. The app is a bit clunky, paired relatively easily and integrated beautifully with my Google assistant. Two tips for installation: 1) In order to get it to install in the app, flip the on/off switch at the bottom of the remote 5 times and it will kick into pairing mode. it will start beeping to let you know. 2) If you use the remote more than a few times (for example, turn the light on and off 3 or more times to check it) the remote seems to stop functioning correctly for a min or two, almost like it's power is depleted. This is not a problem in normal operation, but when you're installing and checking functionality, it may be concerning. Just ignore it - works fine for normal operation.

Installation went smoothly. I killed the breaker for my fan, then took the fan (and lamps down). There was just enough space for the module in the hanger bracket from which the lamp hangs. I rehung the fan and wired the module per the instructions… I finally got to split the fan and lamps to separate wires! Now I wouldn’t need the pull chains anymore… I installed the wall switch panel, turned the breaker on, and lights and fan (including speed) were controlled from the wall switch. Success!I had difficulties with WiFi… the brochure and app each give several ways to get the module into configuration mode, and those instructions are scattered in different places. I tried several different ones (cycle power; looking for Bluetooth; looking for wifi; pressing two buttons together…) Finally, I spied one I hadn’t previously noticed: turn the wall controller off-and-on five times in about ten seconds. That did it. I had the app already running and it immediately recognized the module (I’d previously scanned the barcode in the brochure, but I don’tknow if that was necessary).A note on wifi & 5GHz: While my Google Mesh network offers both 5GHz and 2.4GHz wifi under the same network name, I wasn’t sure how the module and app would work in that environment. Just in case, I used an older iPhone that only runs 2.4GHz. It loaded the Smart Home app just fine, I used it to scan the barcode that identifies my smart fan controller, and when I finally figured out how to reset the module, everything happened automatically.Even before I hooked up wifi and the app, the wall switch controls worked fine for lamp on/off and fan hi/med/low/off.Once I’d hooked up wifi, it didn’t take another minute to get Alexa going. Now I’m golden. “Alexa, turn on Sunroom Light!”
