Does it work with the fan which have no light kits?
- Yes, the light and fan are controlled individually. Just hang up the blue wire (live wire for light)

I bought 5 of these to add lights to existing fans. The problem where one remote operates more than one device has been fixed as each unit has its own frequency.

The remote receiver in my Hampton Bay ceiling fan met its demise during a lightening storm and this kit came to rescue. Installation was straight forward and al the features worked as described.

This was fairly simple. Remove the old one and connect the new one, just follow the color of the wires and what they do. I only had one issue with the new one. It was about a QUARTER INCH THICKER than the old one. So I had to install a couple of washers to bring down the old bracket to allow that new unit to fit. Not a big deal, but most people wouldn’t know how to do that. So that’s why I deducted one star. Otherwise, I like the remote control with the timer feature, and I like the low cost of this unit.

Then I decided to look for alternatives and after searching, I discovered I could purchase a small inexpensive box to control the fans remotely. Wow!I did my research as I always do, discussed the installation with my son-in-law (my in home handyman) then made the purchase. The controls were delivered within 2 days. My son-in-law was able to install them fairly easily. There was a little trial and error with the first one, but the second one went in quickly. The small size receiver was perfect, any larger and it would not have fit.Yes, I can recommend this kit to anyone looking for the convenience of controlling their ceiling fans remotely from the comfort of their bed or recliner

Before, I had to get up out of my chair to turn my fan on/off or change the speed. Who has time for that?!? This was mildly annoying to install, but if you've installed a ceiling fan before and you're comfortable with that then it won't be too bad for you. If you're not comfortable with that, definitely hire someone. No matter how you get it installed, once it is, laziness is yours!
