Good for live bait and catfish

The rod is great and feels solid, but I just don’t like how they basically put an open plastic bag on it with a shipping label, which I’m assuming caused that scuffing on the bottom and a couple of the guides to be bent. Oh well I guess, at least I can bend the guides back to shape and the bottom will get even more scuffed up on my fishing

Absolute tank of a rod, have fun casting 3oz lures no issue. Never lost a fight with this thing. Only thing is the guides bend easily, but no issue just re-adjusting them. Otherwise it would have been a 5*

My favorite fishing rod brand, to me they are the best. Unfortunately I received the wrong fishing rod (spinning), and missing one part. I chose the one of the picture (baitcasting). Anyway I give 5 stars because they are the best.

Had to come back a couple years later to write this. I bought this for catfish, but just reeled in a 30lb Black Drum with this rod. This thing is incredibly strong!!!!

Seem sturdy and and sensitive, but the epoxy holding each eye has separated from the pole slightly and you can hear a pop when you wiggle them. Still tight, but it makes me question the durability.

You can't go wrong with an Ugly Stick. At least not yet. I have had a few of these and the only reason I need to replace them is my son and grandsons run off with them. They won't stand up to a truck door slam though. But I have had 35 lb. cats on them with 20 lb line and brought them in. I have had these rods doubled over on a troll snagged up good and wishing I had line that would break but didn't and neither did the rod. It dam near held the boat in fast current snagged up and all at the dam! For heavy cats and other big fish these are the ticket. I don't do much salt water but I wouldn't be surprised that in the right hands you could handle a Tuna or such with this rod,

The rod is nice, light, strong and sturdy but a little rough reeling and heavy weight casting, assuming due to too many eyelets along the pole. Used for striped bass fishing. Price is fair.

Great rod for a great price. Used it for pike fishing and it performed excellent. used it in -30C and not issues to report with the rod. I combined it with an abu garcia 6500S ambassador reel. Pike stood no chance. Would recommend to any angler.
