My experience with previous tip purchases is that their quality, in terms of heat distribution and surface wetting is variable...probably due to mass-production and their inner design, so in the same set I've got one or two that heat well across their whole surface while others seem somewhat dead or cooler at the very tip...especially my finer, surface-mount tips that are a struggle waiting for, and that don't clean as well or accept solder.I have not tested all of these yet, as my current project was a tiny surface-mount diode, but the SMT tip in this set was an immediate improvement over what I already had, worked beautifully, as soon as touched to solder....which I couldn't say about my previous tip even bumped up to 400 ! I suspect the smallest ones are probably the hardest to manufacture consistent heat response, so I expect my results with the SMT tip reflects the rest of the set that I haven't tested or used yet.So I'm very happy I found this affordable set, especially as they seem to not be as plentiful here on Amazon anymore. One potential "down-side" though....these tips are partially ceramic, they ARE breakable, so I was SHOCKED to find this whole set shipped in nothing but a plastic bag...that's false economy for the Seller and Amazon when they have to cover returns for tips received broken ! 😮 They should be shipped in a box !!

Great set to cover your bases and figure out what you like if you don't already know. Tips even if you take care of them eventually wear out. BC2 is my workhorse for general electronics so it's great to get another one. I is necessary when you get down to SIMD work. Got conical, knives, bevels, etc, at different sizes so you can optimize your work. They come individually wrapped but together in a tear-apart sequence. So you can cut one end off all the way and keep them together like a roll until you get something like a pencil roll. Add a battery and nothing can stop you. With an outlet I run the TS100 off a high watt laptop brick and it heats up incredibly fast. Testing the B2 I know very well, heat up time was equal to what I already had. Build and performance identical as far as I can tell. At $79.99 it comes out to $6.73 a tip and there are a couple large ones here and made well, so I think it's fair. Honestly may be overkill to get 11 but I don't know your life.
