These tips work properly on 4mm duameter heating element soldering irons. They are thickervthsn average, and thus take a bit longer to reach the programmed temperature, but reach it they do, and perform very well. I am using 330°C and readily heating a 5mm 12/10ga ring terminal crimped to silicone insulated wire to solder the ring terminal to the 10 ga wire for optimum electrical connections. Many claimong to be but are not 4mm bore tips are incapable of soldering the connection even when the temp is set to 440°C. The tips are admittedly a bit pricey, but since they work and appear to have good durability, they are not too expensive after all.

A lot of times places will take 900 series tips and try to pass them off as T18. Technically you can use them, but the fit and heat transfer aren't as good. These are real T18 style tips though. They look near identical to the tips that came with my Hakko soldering iron. They work well and are reasonably priced. It's nice having a large set of tip options available. It's a good starter kit.

I've tried a bunch of generic tips and even though some were better than others, none were high quality compared to genuine Hakko tips. These are the first that are in the same league, if not *quite* as good as Hakko. I'm talking about all the key factors: resistant to oxidize/easy to maintain; fast, evenly heating up; and great heat retention across the tip. On a scale of 1 to 10, If Hakko is a 9.5, these score an 8 so far for me. For comparison's sake, out of the multiple previous generic/small-brand tips i tried i wouldn't give any more than 5.5. The other generics were $4 or $5 less for a similar-size pack but trust me that is so completely worth it. Really hope we see more high quality generic tips become available in the future!

this fit my soldering iron perfectly. Heat transfer appears to be at least as good as the original part. I am happy so far after two months of use.
